| Arco Versipellis11-11-07, 01:33 AM | Most importantly, I need a good name. We decided to mix things up a little bit and play monstrous humanoids for a while. And why not slap gestalt on there to. Power hungry as we are, I'd like to bring some interest to the character. Goatfolk Hex-Blade|Rogue [ECL 16] and I took an alternate class feature I found on these boards that gives him the ability to use apprentice mysteries [ToM] and he hasa dark companion [PHII] which is a goat (Why not?). He was exiled for using his hex. Loking at the Wind God of travel, a homebrew deity, as a patron. He has a cohort, another goatfolk. DM has it set up where goatfolk use spirit shamans as religous leaders. I was thinking the cohort could be either a spirit shaman on a spirit jouney or an exiled bard. Thought on which would be more flavorful (in adding to the hex-blade's background and overall purpose). He hails from mountains that isolate a valley, nearly encompassed by two chains. He has been summoned there a the elders are offering him a chance to have his status of exhile revoked if he can put his dark talents to use. Chaotic neutral, but I am not aiming for chaotic crazy. An example, he is following local law in order to gain access to the mountain pass (not to make amends). He has no plans to rejoin the pack, because he ejoys the freedom he has found. I need a good two-handed weapon. Scythe reminds me ofa large pick, and I thought that said "mountain" but I wasn't sure. I thouht about a reach weapon or him and the cohort, too. I'm not aiming for power, just "cool" factor. Any thoughts would be awesome. |
| Rinaldo11-15-07, 02:01 PM | how about a goliath greathammer, or dwarven warpike. both of which are exotic, but are cool and kick butt. I had an Ibixian NPC whom I named "Bix" how about calling him "Pronghorn", or "Ironhoof" |
| Arco Versipellis11-18-07, 01:32 AM | To update: Ibixian Hex-Blade/Rogue (has limited access to Shadow Magic) [glaive] and Cohort Ibixian Spirit Shaman/Robe [spear]. Buildng the Hex-Blade as a generalist (mettaline weapon) Cohort is more narroly built around wood magic and flanking, with some AoO things. He was banned for dealing with curses, and as an exil he learned Shadow Magic. His pack sees this as a form of heresy, and his childhood friendhas joined him to clean his spirit. I though reach may help more with flanking, but Ireally don't have a feat to spend on an exotic weapon. I hadn't considered usig a "common tongue" name. I was learning towards Baaxtar and going by Baax, though I like Ironhoof because it reminds me of (Ghost) Riders in the Sky. What about "Blackhorn" and his cohot "Oakhoof"? |
