Hey all,

I've been kicking around a character idea for the last few weeks, and decided to post what I have laid out so far to get some feedback/more ideas.

A little background..

Our DM has decided to start wrapping up our current campaign, and begin a new city based (Silverymoon, I believe) game in a few weeks.

The group has gotten pretty large recently.. I think we're up to nine or ten people now, and the DM decided to mix things up a bit, and allow almost any race/class combo, as long as we ok it through him first.

Some of our players have decided to play some slightly "broken" characters, and with 10 people in the group, all of the base classes will be covered, with some multiples of each here and there. I decided I would kind of balance things out a bit, and create a character that is all tongue-in-cheek for pure fluff/comic relief, and to help bring the party together, and create some memorable roleplaying moments.

Now as for the character..

I know the Ninja (Complete Adventurer version) is not the best or the funnest class out there, but with what I had planned on doing with the character, the skills seemed just right.

The details are still really sketchy, as we're still playing our current campaign, and I havent had time to put -too- much thought into the character.

I was thinking about maybe making him a Kara-Turan slave of some sort..(If they use them?)

Maybe keep him masked at all times (he may consider it bad mojo to remove it), and I'll introduce himself as a halfling, and try to convince the town/party that he is indeed a halfling. (Even though his ears will obviously be sticking out of the top of the mask)

I had also been thinking about eventually turning him into a vigilante or some sort, maybe by epic levels, be some sort of a superhero for the town that is only "rumored" to exist.

If he's an outcast of some sort, I figure I'll use a makeshift costume/mask by snatching random bits of clothing off of wash lines or something.

The one thing I have for the character, for his skills, is maybe look at the chart, and see what I get the next level, or two, and tell his party he can already turn invisible, for example.. only to have him tossed out of a window/door/room/establishment by a guard/bouncer that can still see him.

That's all I have now, any ideas/feedback would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Don't forget to dress entirely in sky blue. Nobody around the area believes me, but I think a spectacular weapon for a ninja is a greataxe. And make sure that under the mask is totally another mask.

I dig the whole 'mask under the mask' idea..hehe.

Maybe I'll have him make a big deal out of unmasking himself around 18th lvl or so.. pull one of those "Guys.. I'm not who you think I am.." things, even though I'm sure the party will already know.

Play a low wis/int goblin who was raised outside of his tribe. He would get confused when people scream and run away from him. Work hard to dispel the negative steriotypes about goblins.

Hmm, I don't see why a Greataxe would be bad for a Ninja. And sky blue would be a cool change of pace from black.

I actually just finished constructing a build for a campaign im playing at the moment... Its a pretty high powered campaign, he's a goblin shadow-walker vampire named "Romero" the small package.

I created him with the same intentions as dreury, that is to add an extra element of tom foolery and gags to the game.

I went the approach of Ninja/Invisible Blade/Master Thrower/Shadowlord etc..

Ive always been a huge fan of goblins, completely underestimated and thats the angle he's coming in with along with some funny character traits ive been juggling.

I've been toying with some ideas recently.. We'll be starting this new campaign in about two weeks, so I'm having to put these ideas into action now..

I think I may play him to where he totally misjudges the parties intelligence, and when he does the big reveal... it'll probably come out something like
"Guys.. I can't hide behind a lie anymore.. I'm not really a halfling. I'm a hillgiant."

Then maybe start reaching for things on the top shelf, and when someone offers to help, be like "No, no need.. I'm a hill giant" and start jumping.

Or take a round in combat to try and uproot a tree.

It's the little things with this guy that I'm hoping will help my party get into it, and help us all out with roleplaying.

Thanks for the ideas, guys =) They've been helping a lot so far
