Note: The term Clan Avatar is in no way associated with the show 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. I'll be joining a campaign in a few weeks which takes place in an asian setting and all the PCs will be 'Avatars' of their clan. Now, I've a few ideas down but they're all derived from Asian mythos and/or pop-culture. I'd like to try playing these but I'm not sure which if any would have any staying power and keep my interest. I'll post them below but if anyone has any ideas for a 'Avatar type' character or any ideas on my examples I'd appreciate it. I should also note we'll be making classes for our specific characters to make them more unique so please don't suggest Optimization Builds. ~Play a ‘War God’ type with an emphasis on damage and/or strategic combat. Perhaps he wields a Spiked Chain or other exotic weapon. This character would be young(teens) but have extraordinary physical power and heightened senses. I'd like his Clan to have a reputation like the Spartans did in Ancient Greece and he'd most likely be their leader. ~A ‘Heretic Priest’ who despite being a nonbeliever can replicate the powers of a cleric through use of ‘sutras’ or scrolls and has a large skill list and decent martial arts training ala the Monks. Character wise, he'd be a brutal, and seemingly uncaring soul who does perform last rights and the like as well as protect others but is in no way naive about the world around him. This idea is based off Sanzo from Saiyuki. ~The ‘Monkey King’ who was born from the earth. Character wise, he'd be childish and simple with low mental stats. He revels in combat, thinking it a game and has an endless appetitite but cannot handle liquor. He'd be good at heart, most likely Chaotic Good but enjoy playing tricks on his friends and allies. His clan would know he's supposed to be the Avatar but can't believe such a fool would be their 'chosen one'. Son Goku from Saiyuki is the model. I'm trying to come up with a few other ideas but they arent really getting off the ground. If anyone has ideas for an Avatar type along with personality and abilities I'd appreciate it if you shared it with me. Also, any elaboration on my current ideas would be awesome. ericSHINRA
