Hmm.. Perhaps a monk who spent most of his child hood learing hand to hand combat. Then when he/she went out and started adventuring he/she slowly started realizing deep meaningful truths on fighting. About how it was not just a battle but a work of art. This person comes to realize truths of the world, people, and of course the grace of fighting this way. Until finally he/she is visted by a man who (if you are traveling with a party) no one else in the party can see. Thus one morning you awaken to this man sitting in front of your long extinguished fire (while the rest of the party sleeps) and he is sitting there sharpening the blade of a sword. Slowly you realize that this is the man that you have been glancing from a distance and you confront him. He replies to tell you that he has been watching and has seen in you a rare gift that can only come through true understanding of combat and truths through battle. He has come to train you in the "sublime way" but that he will train you from the recesses of your mind. Then as you blink he is gone. From then on you strive to learn about life, death, truth, love, humanity, ect. from battle. And you come to an understanding that the greatest weapon that one has against ones foes is their foes own strength.

This is a very simple build. Monk=as many lvls as you want+swordsage=as many lvls as you want (the path would be of the setting sun, due to the fact that this is the only one of an unarmed veriation) The setting sun path is about harnessing the energy of an opponent and redirecting it through a series of manuevers and stances.

A Hexblade that has the love of his life imprisioned by an evil wizard and the only way to save her is by swearing lifelong loyalty and service to the Aforementioned wizard.

It all gets explosive in the season finale when he discovers the wizard has made the love of his life part of his harem and takes Gore-y revenge on him, dont miss it! only here, on BBC

I'm planning on running this guy soon, but feel free to.

In a sentence, the hedonist cleric. I have him attached to the Dark Six from Eberron, but I'm sure you could find something to make him work, even if he's devoted to a concept; he followed them mostly because he thought that the Sovereign Host were getting all of the mainstream worship and wanted to experience the other side. True Neutral, of course. The goals of this character is to experience everything possible before he dies, because that is the obvious path to enlightenment. Domains in Passion and X. He will spontaneously inflict and rebuke; for 1st level, take Spontaneous Healing and Domain Spontenaity (Passion). Also, observing the reactions of others has a place in experience. Take ranks in Sense Motive and be curious, piercing, blunt. If you fail to rescue hostages, observe the grief of those left behind; not because you enjoy it, but because you don't. You are an experience magnet, and until you have felt everything, your job isn't complete.

Alternatively, you could play an OCD, germaphobic Abjurer named Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham (which I have done, kudos to those who get the reference).

Also, another character I intend to play: a half-orc rogue with intent to go into shadowdancer. Your first feat: Weapon Proficiency (greataxe). While possible by the rules, how does a massive half-orc with a greataxe do shadowdancer stuff? Bend the flavor to do your will!

The Elf two-weapon Jedi-esque fighter
The Warforged Wu Jen/Master of Masks diplomat
The Killoren stealthy executioner

This is a backup character for the game I'm in now, but feel free to run with it...

CG Hellbred (Fiendish Codex II), Dread Necromancer (Heroes of Horror).

In his previous life, Theredrin Kalnos was a Sorceror of little renown in the Dales, save for poor control of his "gift". He returned home one afternoon to find his wife Alyssa in bed with his brother. Enraged, he hurled a fireball into them, killing all three in a flash. As his soul arrived in the Grey Wastes he cried out, repenting his sins. Kelemvor heard this, and returned him to Toril in a new form.

Although twisted by the Devils that laid claim to his soul, his new body is strong enough to let him fight for redemption. With only vague memories of his past life, Theredrin chose the path of necromancy to forestall his seemingly inevitable return to the Hells. He plans to use the powers for good, raising fallen enemies, and turning them against his remaining foes, removing as many Devils from Faerun as possible. If he survives to Lichdom, Theredrin will use his minions to launch continual raids against the Lower Planes, until the Celestial Powers feel his is worthy of paradise.

(Side note: He is a desperate individual, might not be fully sane. The idea of using necromancy for good is anathema to most Gods/Goddesses and he's very likely to be damned simply for that, but if he is, it makes a great tragedy! ;))

A chaotic neutral warforged necromancer (and eventually pale master). "I'm trying to understand what is this death everyone's talking about."

A warforged that wants to adopt a baby.
A warforged that search for a father/mother figure.
A warforged artificer that wants to build himself a warforged kid.
or any family-related concept concerning a warforged.

A warforged that want to live the tribal life of the Talenta halflings.

Heck, I love the roleplay opportunities of the warforged. :D

Sykes the Renegade. Once he was a mighty illithid slayer - perhaps among mind flayers the most feared human. He met a woman and fell in love with her. They arranged to be married. He would hang up his adventuring gear for her. But he had to make sure his cause continued. He trained an apprentice. On his final raid, disaster struck. His apprentice was killed (maybe not?), and he was captured. There he underwent ceremorphosis. But it was only partial, as his training served him well.

Still, Sykes is no more. This new mind flayer (or human with a flayer's brain and dietary need - it does happen) has only one memory of Sykes left. A face. And an emotion associated with it. An emotion no mind flayer can feel. Love. Illithid society is unaccepting of any mind flayer with even the slightest hint of its previous life - for prophecy speaks of their eradication/decimation by one whose soul survived ceremorphosis.

Now Sykes is considered the gravest danger to all illithids. They cannot let him live. All for a life he doesn't remember. Only one person may unlock his past. But even if he finds her, has she moved on? Can she accept what he has become?

That's my favorite. My first character concept.

How about a wood elf barbarian? He is calm on the outside but rages within, manifesting itself during combat or times of stress. he is quite and keeps to himself and lashes out at those who get clsoe to him. He has a white sheild that he draws pictorgrams of things he has seen and/or done. He also plays a set of pan pipes when he feels sad.

He also likes Jackin' off.

Related to my previous ideas :

warforged wizard + polymorph + nymph + Book of Erotic Fantasy
:D

you can also replace "nymph" by "red light district" and add "pimp" to "warforged wizard".
So you can get this (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/17165106/)

A young girl from a tribe of barbarians in the southern jungles; upon reaching the age of adulthood, she sets off out of her village for the first time on a path of fun and adventure. Her naivity will be tested, however, and her body and soul tempered as she learns, through her experiences and the various people she meets, that the road to becoming the shamanic leader of her people is not an easy one.

The hippie Wizard

Race: Human, Sex: Male, Religion: Chauntea
Alignment: CN.

Background: A researcher at the wizard academy specialized in botany as source for alchemical component but also have a small industry at the side, breeding plants for the farmers that are hardier to environmental stress and disease (magically enhanced breeding), breeding exotic plants for garderners and excentric nobles. He also has a more shady business with “mind altering herbs”, which he also grow and improve by breeding. He has been able to reach a quite good standing in several different social circles using his craft, which has translated into a decent wealth which has been re-invested into his studies. Unfortunately, one of his latest botanical creations which was highly appreciated for its exotic looks (he had been able to cross “impossible” interplanar hybridization barriers using magic) was found to demand the blood of its owner – resulting in a rather nasty history of serial murders (see: Little shop of horrors). As this happened, he realized that it was best to run away with his creation (his familiar) and look for new components elsewhere for a while. As he left, he let the main responsibilities for his various businesses be handled by his most talented apprentice (who also is a very talented merchant dealing with farmers, nobles and “the mob” with equal skill). He is not very strong and gets easily winded, smokes a lot , wears glasses and is generally rather clumsy. He is more interested in his books, herbarium and plants around him, making him less attentive of immediate dangers around him.
Personality and looks: Think hippie student.

Strategy: Using plant domain spells for battle field control and defense. Aiming to be (the only?) purely Arcane Verdant Lord. At later levels also for summoning powerful allies (which might be augmented by Alienist levels).

Sample quotes:
About chauntea:
“Man, chauntea is, like, a groovy chick and all…but I am, like, not her SERVANT or anything … like not more than any farmer anyway… I am, like, not like one of those clerics”.

About Forbidden Lore:
“Oh…there are some serious **** in here… you know…this is like the stuff we are not supposed to know, man. Its like the world as we know it does not exist, man… but the MAN does not want us to know…”

Stats:
STR: 8 (0)
CON: 8 (0)
DEX: 10 (2)
INT: 18 (6+4+6=16)
WIS: 14 (6)
CHA: 12 (4)

(28 point buy)

Level, Feat

1. Wizard 1, Arcane Disciple (Plant), Improved familiar (Plant), Mind over Body, Flaw: Unattentive (Arcane bonus feat: Improved familiar? – Possibly add Able learner as flaw compensating feat)
2. Human paragon 1 (skill ability: Survival?)
3. Human paragon 2 (Wizard+1, bonus feat: Spell focus(conjuration)),
4. Human paragon 3 (Wizard+1, INT+2)
5. Wizard 2(4)
6. Wizard 3(5), Augment Summoning
7. Verdant Lord (“lore Herbalism:8 and wilderness: 8” required 3.0 – change for 3.5 – might alter the level progression plans.)

Level 7-16 Verdant Lord (after being introduced to the Grove and proven himself worthy) AFTER this he might return to some of his studies of “Forbidden lore” and add a few levels of Alienist (think psychedelic flashbacks, weird plant breeds … things that start to freak out seriously (not the least his plant familiar)…also consider that this happens as he is slowly turning into a plant – and partially to a pseudonatural being)

Plant domain ability – similar to Plant Control and Deceive plant. Clerics with plant domain should have VL available.

* Clerics with plant domain should qualify for Verdant Lord, which logically also means that a Wiz with plant domain can enter given that he is able to convince the grove that he shares their views “like, totally!”.

Feel free to add more to the concept :P

EDIT: Oh, and another idea. When he gets enough VL levels for regeneration, he can cut off one of his fingers and keep it in a jar with alchemical solutions until next level. During this level the finger develops "roots" and slowly turn into a mini-version of the character. This clone is then used as familiar and ofcourse his name is "Mini Me".

Another thing. Tried to hide some mechanics under one of those buttons but I did not find any option to do so. Any hints on how to do that are greatly appreciated.

An good halfling barbarian whos village was razed but some dark source of evil.

An Ur-Priest who is an Ex-worshiper of a good diety, because he feels he was forsaken.

A Favored Soul/Sorceror Mystic Theurge...Whos magic is base solely on his magnetic prescence and personality...

Of the top of my head ...

A neutral powerful magic-user dedicated to knowledge and being able to cast all possible magic ... spends most of his life researching spells but not actually using them and due to crcumstance he is now force to use his massive "powers" to help save the world... could be played as an optimized wizard, archivist, erudite, etc.

A baby born with unusual maturity and powers ... the body of a baby with a maturity of a 10 year old and the powers of player character ... should a magic-user and could have a caregiver of some sort since he can talk but can't walk yet like a familiar/pet or a bodyguard/nanny... he doesn't know the source of his powers it could be a reincarnated person, born to powerful parents, an artificially created being or even a polymorphed character with limited amnesia

A powerful villain forced to do good things because of a powerful curse/spell on him who later likes doing good ... curse could be trapped in a new form (i.e. powerful warrior now a little girl) or frightened that committing an evil act wil kill him instantly or cause him great pain

an awakened golem just learning of the world, with no memories acts like a baby ... must learn to walk and talk ...

An average RPG player swho wakes up to find himself an RPG adventurer but doesn't know who he is ... knows real life stuff but has to learn life in the rpg like how to start fire etc.

Play a gnome barbarian that was raised by halflings and truly believes that he is, in fact, a halfling. As a result of everyone he meets telling him that he is a gnome, he has developed a rather violent hatred of gnomes in general. Whenever he even sees a gnome, he must make a will save to keep from flying into a screaming rage and attacking it. Eventually, during the game, he snaps and formulates a plan to commit total gnome genocide...

Well a friend and I have started creating characters with similar themes or that theme off each other...

Currently we both play people who claim to be able to do anything... I'm a factotum who can get a +15 to any, mark ANY, skill check, including any and all craft checks, knowledge checks, and skills usable trained only (albeit only once a day for each skill), and he's a warmage with a wide selection of skills (I think he multiclassed into something else as well, probably rogue for the skills, but I'm not sure). His is actually heavily geared towards Red Mage from 8-bit, including profession: Dinosaur hunter and craft: insanely complicated device. That craft skill is an agreement between him and the DM... he can use it with impressive results... but the DM gets to decide what the device does... the player only gets to decide when to use it.
Generally when something needs to be done that isn't smashing something both of us call out "I can do that!" (or if one of us misses calling out in unison, there can be an "I can do that better!"), glare at each other, and then make separate skill checks. So far my cookies are better than his (profession: chef) and i'm smarter (I make all my knowledge checks in the 20+ range) and he's better in combat and at hurting himself and attracting attention (he's had this tendency to fall off high platforms and blow up walls with insanely complicated devices).

As back-up characters (what can we say? we like to make characters) we have a pair of wizards, one specializing in air and electricity spells, and the other in earth and a few acid spells. Aeolus is claustrophobic and (I forget what he named his earth wizard) is acrophobic. We even asked our DM if we could use the same stats for both of them, switching around a few of them (like I have 17 dex and 11 con, and he has 17 con and 11 dex... str and cha were similarly mirrored) and he was OK with it. They also have reserve feats from Complete Mage appropriate to their respective elements. We figure it should be fun playing them once we get a chance.

A human CIVILIZED barbarian. I think that would be fun! :) He grew up in a big city, had a good family, maybe did some service as a soldier now he's moved on.
Nothing barbaric about him, until you see him in combat. :D

Sounds fun!

A human CIVILIZED barbarian.

I once played a character like this. The whole party thought he was a fighter (since he refered to himself as a warrior) and he was clean shaven and propper. Medium armor, sword and shield, he fit the part.

When he got into combat, he was fine until somebody hit him, then hed go beserk :P It still took people a while to figure out i was playin a barbarian, they just thought he had anger issues :D

What about - An elven ranger who specalises in hunting undead (tame and lame... but it would be interesting to see what sort of background you could come up with)

Peace

-An evil Aasimar (think Paladin of Tyranny from Unearthed Arcana) who capitalizes on people's tendency to look at him and think "I can trust him!"
-A Neutral Evil druid who is overweight and has a drinking problem (I played this one, eventually PrC'd him into Geomancer. Picture a cranky drunk with downy white fur, leopard spots, and antlers).
-A Wu Jen who has the taboo "Cannot pronounce the letter R," and goes around talking about "How invigowating adventuwing is!"
-A half-Fey fighter who has learned to kick ass in order to get people to shut up about his butterfly wings.
-A chaotic evil Warforged Psion with Adamantine body. Something wasn't wired right up there.
-A Lawful Neutral True Necromancer (PrC from Libris Mortis) who is generally quiet, enjoys a good book, tends to wear navy blue and seems is in general a reasonably nice, mild-mannered person. Also has a rather nasty case of Tourette Syndrome. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourettes_syndrome)
-A Dwarf with a Charisma of 16 who is popular with the ladies, if you catch my drift.
-A Warlock who acts like a gunslinger from a Western movie, but with his Eldritch Blast instead of his gun. I imagine this guy only shooting the blast from one hand, and keeping that hand gloved until he's ready to fire.
-A Chaotic Good Githyanki bard.

If you really feel like you've exhausted all your singular options, you could always use a changeling, or doppelganger and go for Chameleon. This would allow you to play a little bit of everything all at once.

A chaotic neutral warlock, who shook off a dark pact with the demonic forces that gave him his power, but was left psychologically scarred. He had been infamous and powerful before he shook off the pact. Stripped of most of his power, he clings to what's left in hopes of using demonic power against evil. The psychological trauma when he lost his powers causes him to go back and forth between lawful good and chaotic evil tendencies.

I've always wanted to play a Son of a Lich... Was almost bored enough to homebrew a Bloodline for that.

I've been wanting to play the son of a powerful wizard who got annoyed enough at his cocky brat that he polymorphed him into a pseudodragon and tossed him out of the tower with orders not to return until he had fixed himself. Though i'd love to throw some POA cheese in there and poly him into a pixie first for the int boost and then lock a collar around his neck that change him into the dragon, but like that would ever fly.

poly him into a pixie first for the int boost
You know that polymorphing doesn't change your mental abilities?
You won't gain any int boost if you get polymorphed into a pixie.
The same way that you wound't loose your int if you polymorph into a lizard (and thus making you incapable of cancelling your own spell).

The character I use is a Paladin, who at early levels is a moral philosopher. He can be described as a relatively tall and muscular pale skinned human with red hair. He weilds a longsword and a shield, and wears full plate. His diety is Torm. His character development could be intersting as he becomes a Greyguard (From Complete Scoundrel). This could happen as he becomes involved in a scandal involving high ranking members of the clergy, and discovers that the world is not as black and white as he was made to beleive, or something of that nature.

Here's some of my more interesting ideas....

I made an elf/orc named Logrehrar Lotharion, or Lothar. Obviously, the usual "star-crossed lovers" backstory. This guy had the half-orc size, but was what you'd call "ruggedly handsome" due to the elf blood. Smart and charismatic. Picture your typical half-orc dressed as a slightly foppish gentleman, walking around with a rapier. A keen rapier he used with power attack and cleave and a mean sneak attack. He was a fighter/rogue and eventually a duelist, but I think now that I think about it, I'm going to redo him and throw in someswashbuckler...

Theric Cleif, the cleric/thief, a gnome I played a long time back. They had some strange multiclassing restrictions back in first edition.

Ardelia Bladeshadow, a female STR 16 strongheart halfling rogue/fighter/kensai who uses a bastard sword two-handed. (Who says halflings can't do big damage?) I actually started her in the Neverwinter Nights video game as a rogue/fighter/champion of torm - sort of a halfling palladin.

And the not-quite-according-to-the-rules character from some stories I wrote -

An 18 INT chimpanzee who was previously a wizard's familiar but is now a sorceror 3/wizard 2 all on his own (due to some funky magical tinkering by his dead master), who casts spells with screeching and sign language. He travels with his former master's awakened talking horse, and the human ranger who used to be the cohort of the wizard, but now serves the monkey. They were joined by a monk who was just too intrigued to pass up the opportunity to travel with them.
(I got the idea for the character while watching an animated video somebody did online for Johhny Cash's version of "Desperado", which had a chimp dressed as a cowboy slowly riding a horse along a fence) Ya know, I wonder if I should have the horse become the monk's student...lol.

What about a guy that will worship-as-a-god the first PC he meet?
I don't care what his first class is, but he must become cleric of the afore-mentioned PC after he met him, and he must do a lot of things in his name. Like, I don't know, sacrifice a whole village.
If you can find a way that this character can help the campaign while doing this, it's better.

A young girl who is seeking protection. Her clothes are covered in dirt and grime, her face streaked with tears, and her light blond hair lays limp and unwashed. She is shaking with fright, her brown eyes resembles a rabbit who has seen the open jaws of a wolf and survived. Oh, and how her soul is wracked with such terrible magic that, when released, frightens her so.
Have her latch on to the "protector" of the group, always stand close by him for fear of being taken away again.
Have her be a sorcereress focusing on conjuration and Strong Necromancy spells. Make her spells uncontrollable, and dangerous.

A Lawful Neutral 'diplomat' Kobold sorcerer (or rogue) who acts as an apologist for kobold culture outside their lands.

Background: Growing up in a raiding/looting band of goblins thievery came easily and quickly, or else you got left behind. This goblin got better and better until the usual daily raiding became boring and mundane. Always searching for a better "rush" and a bigger prize he/she left behind the old band and struck out to find adventure. Always the kleptomaniac, the first temple raid led to a second, and then caught the eye of the Temple Raiders.
Quote: I ride the ragged edge of the rush. I steal because I can. What better reason is there?

A necromancer who wishes to harness the power of the undead in order to free the living from the toil and mundane work of everyday life. (By doing the work for them, not by killing them)
Quote: My goodness that looks heavy. Here, let the zombie carry it. You need a rest.

A gnoll druid/beastmaster/animal lord with an ape animal companion.
Background: Stupid half-monkies. "Fetch the ball Rover. Roll over Rover. Sit up Rover. I'll show them!"

A dwarf bard with a penchant for limericks and a love of hand-crossbows.
Background: Exiled from dwarven lands for being a little to raunchy in his stories. To raunchy for dwarves... take it and run with it.
Quote: There once was a dwarf from nantucket...

A halfling Acolyte of the Skin.
Background: Tired up being looked upon as "cute" and getting his cheeks pinched by old washerwomen, our little halfling decided to take a walk on the evil side. Darth Vader, but 3 feet tall with a squeaky voice.
Quote: You don't know the power of the dark side. <but imagine it after a helium ballon>

An extreamly lazy Wizard. So lazy he has his raven familiar talk for him. Uses a tensers floating disk and chair to get around. Has a manservant named Geeves and uses spells like unseen servant and mage hand. Uses Still and Silent metamagics. Summons monsters to fight for him. I mean think about it, there are so many spells out there that reak lazy mage. I had a much more fleshed out character, but you only wanted around a paragraph. :D

A Halfling monk with a little mans complex, who belongs to a gang of halfling monks who all have little mens complexes. They could be good/bad, but a main concept would be, "Who are you calling little? Hey guys this tallie just called me 'little man', GET HIM!" Little fists of fury

Or a egocentric cleric that get all his spells from his own ego.

*A warforged artificer. He refers to himself as a "necromancer" - when confronted on the point, he just mumbles something along the lines of "you have your death, we have ours." Thinks of constructs, artifacts, and even ornate stonework as being more "alive" than other humanoid races.

*A lawful-good cleric... who worships the Guardian of Dead Gods. Fascinated by the concept of the death of dieties, he has devoted himself to learning all he can on the topic, and warding off those that would challenge the pantheon as a whole. Domains are protection and death, pick up the last issue of Dragon magazine for the details on the diety.

*A female orc warrior. Separated from her tribe and wounded in battle, she was taken in and healed by the members of a small monastery... and quickly discovered that there are people who don't treat females as cattle. Seeks to liberate the women and children of her tribe, once she can find them again, and start a new tribe of her own. Preferably with males in a sliiiiightly submissive role. Give `em an inch, they'll take a mile.

*A half-orc or half-elf wizard, obsessed with the creation of new magical species of creatures. "Now... take a look at this. You see these cultures? That one's beholder. That one's mind flayer. You see how they reacted identically to the basilisk hormones? I think there's some definite compatibility there... maybe with a bit of dragon stock as catalyst, everything seems to mesh well with dragon genes..." His dream? A utopian kingdom of superior creatures - all of his creation. Slight god complex, but a decent guy... really...

*A paralyzed druid; mostly useless from the waist down, completely useless below the knees. Relies entirely on his animal companion for mobility. Has a bit of a complex - feels he constantly has to prove he can get through things on "his own" or else he's proved himself worthless. In his words - "Nature doesn't leave anyone behind. It takes the wounded and sick along... <pause>... as trail rations." The flipside of the coin is that he is so close to his companion, he usually says "we" in place of "I".

*An antiquarian, convinced that his only reason for going with the group is to recover a rare tome for a buyer. "Of course, they keep uncovering such fascinating books... it's worth it to stick around, I mean, you never know what they'll run into... they just unearthed a second edition of the Demonomicon with apocrypha last week... yes, it's been quite good for me..." Of course, the real reason the weak, often cowardly-seeming fellow stays with them is that beneath the surface he's an utter thrill seeker. He just loves the adrenaline surge... even if he can't admit it. Especially to himself.

I always loved the idea of a cleric praying an evil deity for good motives.
It might be Nerull, Tiamat or any really nasty deity. The cleric will be praying his god (let's take Nerull for example) in order to ask him not to cause death to a certain village, person or group, to protect the lives of those persons and target other for now. Of course, asking this of an evil god would seem totally ridiculous, so, the Neutral Good cleric of Nerull must kill in the name of Nerull each time he asks to protect the life of another. "By sacrificing this peasant, a hero might live another day." But with time, an evil god can become even more nasty, asking for more kills, arguing that "This hero is worth a hundred men, and I will accept no less than a hundred souls in exchange for his life."

A human CIVILIZED barbarian. I think that would be fun! :) He grew up in a big city, had a good family, maybe did some service as a soldier now he's moved on.
Nothing barbaric about him, until you see him in combat. :D

Sounds fun!

Exactly! My friend is playing a character in a pirate campaign exactly like this.

Lord Philip Reis was the pride of the Royal Navy; it's most ruthless captain, best swordsman and most intelligent seaman. Everyone expected him to become a powerful man in the Navy. On one such occasion, he is invited to a grand ceremony to appoint the next Admiral. Expecting great things for himself, Reis is shocked to discover that the position had been given to the king's young upstart brat, to keep him from getting in trouble. Calming his anger, he approached the young man after the ceremony to congratulate him.

"Oh thank you, Philip." the young fop repiled. "I do feel that I've certainly earned it."

Reis' glass of wine shatters in his hand.

One violent outburst and a hasty jailbreak later, Lord Philip Reis the Mad becomes the most bloodythirsty pirate to sail the Inner Sea. They say something glazes over his eyes when blood is shed; an almost sexual lust. Few people expect such fury to explode from one dressed in such a nice coat, curled wig and tri-corner hat. Yet, by the end of the battle, that Royal Navy Uniform is so immensely covered with blood, it's difficult to tell what began it's life as.

After every battle though, he enjoys a good spot of tea.

Half-ogre (or half-orc if you'd prefer) barbarian
Wears a kilt
THICK scottish brogue
Wields a claymore
Name: Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod :P

Goblin Paladin

Dwarf Sorcerer

Pretty much anything that involves the words "Awakened Monkey"
Although I'd like to do a ninja/assassin or a spellcaster/Mindbender

And kudos to everyone for their great (and often hilarious!) ideas!

Chaotic Good Human Beguiler who wields a dagger (and later pair of daggers) trying to become skillful enough to escape the gladiator pens and join the daggerspell mages. (Lv5 Beguiler/ Lv5 Invisible Blade/ Lv10 Daggerspell Mage) Make your party respect an unarmored illusionist enchanter with daggers as much as that fearsome looking duskblade with the full-plate and greatsword.

How about a Palladin that grew up in the streets and actually has his first few levels in Rogue? Sort of a "local kid done good" that watches his neighborhood and keeps the rougher elements from getting out of hand. Wears leather armor and uses a quarterstaff. Kind of person that doesn't even realize that they're a palladin, they're just trying to do the right thing and things seem to go well for them when they do.

You know that old stereotype of the pirate with the parrot on the shoulder? well, me and a friend once played with this idea: he had a young pirate adventuring to find a way to lift a curse placed in his older brother (my character - a wizard pirate captain). The curse? Baleful polymorph into a Parrot! And since a parrot can mimic human voice, my pirate wizard could still cast spells!

A barbarian with an oath to never kill, who uses a truncheon (one handed non-lethal melee weapon, 1d8 damage crit x2).

A braindamaged dwarf fighter/reaping mauler that wears a pot on his head and yells nonsense at innappropriate times. BUR WURGA HURGA DOO!

A human commoner with a hand crossbow. Straight outa Compton!

Lawful good Ogre Cleric of pelor. A real "friendly giant".

A Kenku Bard that uses ghost sound combined with it's special voices to make techno music and annoy the **** out of everyone. Don't forget thick sunglasses, because those always look funny on birds.
