Hey Everyone, I need some help fleshing out one of my PCs.

Heres a little backstory/ideas, and I would really appreciate if anyone can help me spruce him up. Thanks!

Ilikan the Kinless(formerly the Swiftrunner) was a Goliath child that was part of the Lukanni Tribe, and has always been infatuated with nature. His father was a Stonespeaker Guardian, as was his fathers father. But the problem was that no one had faith in Ilikan because he never won many games of goatball or wrestling matches. He was always weaker than the other children. When he finally failed to protect another child from a bear, he was cast away from the tribe and shunned becuase he was deemed as unable to help in any way. His surname was taken from him and he was known as the Kinless from then on. Ilikan decended from the peaks into the lush forest below, and has lived there for the past 15 years or so. He is a Druid lvl 12 (and has the Goliath Druid substituion levels). And he always feels an innate link to the earth, He has the Stone Form feat and Endurance, and will find the link with the earth enough to become a Stonespeaker Guardian after he has a vision with his forefathers erging him to take up the mantle of Stonespeaker because his tribe will need him in time. He has a Dire Flying squirrel animal companion (as a Dire Rat but a little different) named Lucifer and he always refers to him when they want to make decisions. He is a overly protective of his area he calls home (about a 3 mile radius of the forest) and has all the animals stay on the lookout for any other people wandering in so that he can monitor their intentions hes NG and hates anyone who trys to harm any creature or plant in the forest if they do not do it in a respectful way. (Killing a deer for food is ok, slaughtering a whole family of deer is not) and he will give a person a fair warning one time if they attempt to harm anything under his watch, and then if they attempt it again he will put them at the bottom of his hole (a 50ft deep pit near where he sleeps) until they swear to not harm anything and never will step foot in the wood again, at that point if they try to harm him or anything again, he will kill them.

He decided to join an adventuring team to battle a host of undead that are south and marching forward basically on a path through his forest, and doesnt want their unnatural evil tainting his woods.

Any help you can give me with either tales he can tell of his time in the wood, or Goliath sayings or anything to reflect upon and such will help me out alot. Also want to flesh out his relationship with small animals and why he is so protective of them. Thanks!

Druids can do more then just shoot people full of arrows if they try killing too many woodland creatures. They can also attempt to try to teach and reason with intelligent beings to live in the forest without destroying too much, but I am not sure if that works with your campaign.

I see a kind and gentle soul who was forced away from his tribe because he lent them no strength and they could not allow (or abide) weakness. Such a child likely already had much respect for the small creatures of the woods who were more like him than were many of his own bretheren. He liked to watch as they would run and play in the woods and yet work at the same time, gathering food and making their shelters. The goliaths were nomads who moved through the mountains and he longed for a nest he could rely on. The other goliaths hunted like hawks or foxes but he envied the squirrells storing their nuts so they would always have plenty. When he was cast out it may not have hurt him much because he was never truly a part of the tribe and he was now able to find a true family in the woods.

I wouldn't try to use to many goliath sayings really. You never felt comfortable amongst them and don't really think like them. You aren't at ease with the adventurers either but teamed up out of neccessity. Praise them with comparisons to famed goliath hunters and warriors (who they likely don't know which means you will need to make a few up). You are trying to tell them you can't understand them but to them it will sound like praise from a barbarian.
