Ok guys im just pulling this outta "you know where" here so bare with me. I got bored sitting here writing my zombie story so i figured id write something differant (sort but differant) So.... just be gentle.

Adventurers, explorers and treasure hunters all have one thing in common; in the end they all wind up dead. Just like this latest crew I hooked up with, except this time I think it’s my fault.

People of all sorts come from all over when they hear the many legends about this place, about its many horrors. From what I have gathered over the past months, there was once great castle in the forest that was home to a horrible queen or whatnot. Anyway, she did terrible things to the people of these lands and yadda-yadda-yadda eventually somebody put a stop to her.

Anyway the point is she had many temples and shrines or whatever built to her “Dark and Terrible God” as they all put it, which are now infested with monsters. A rare few times these fools come out of these dungeons with as many members as they went in, other times nobody comes out at all. Luckily though, most of the time these groups loose just a few but come back with a bit of coin to show for their efforts.

Now these latest folk were from some big city from out west, looking to make it rich quick, the usual deal. They heard of some great treasure to be found or some terrible beast that needed slaying, I don’t know I forget which one it was this time.

Anyway, they dropped down into this well and left me to watch over their gear and horses, which is where I usually fit in. Now im just a kid but ive been running around these woods alone for a few years now and I know my way around pretty well.

Anyway these groups are usually looking for somebody to show them where one of these dungeons is and to watch their stuff while they go play hero’s. I mean all they usually get me to do is stuff like make sure the horses don’t run away and set up a camp and have a meal ready if they are gone into the night, which really aint that hard.

One time I had to kill some kobolds that ran away with some of the groups gear, but that wasn’t that scary. Anyway that group didn’t come back so I just kept all their stuff in the end anyway. But they usually do come back, and after the getting all that treasure and seeing what a good job id done of watching their stuff they usually throw a few coins my way. One time, when the whole group came back, they gave me five gold; it was the greatest day ever.

But back to this latest group. They eventually jumped back out of the well a few hours later, minus a member but no worse for wear. It was getting dark early so I set up camp and started cooking a meal. Anyway I must have left my herbs at home so I started looking through their bags to see if they had any that I could borrow, they never notice when I take small stuff. I found some weird looking leaves in one of their bags so I crushed them up and threw them into the soup I was making.

Anyway, long story short, I woke up the next morning and they were all dead. I figure it must have been the soup because that’s the only thing they ate that I didn’t. When they came back up I left to go catch a few rabbits and when I came back the soup was eat, figures.

Anyway, I freaked out a bit. I mean ive seen dead people before but never really people that were killed by me. I gathered up all the stuff they stole from the dungeon as well as all their gear then spent the day digging graves for them. I didn’t really listen when they were giving names so I just wrote “Adventurer1,2 and 3” on their graves.

Ive got a little cubby I like to hide out at when my mum gets mad and it’s where I keep all the stuff I get. So I went out there and dumped the latest load of junk and let two of the horses go. I figure im going to need one of them to make my escape, murder is a pretty big thing back in town and I don’t think mum will be to happy with me.

Im going to gather up all the stuff ive got over the years and run away to one of the big cities. I hear there is one pretty close by to the north; it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

If you’re reading this then you must have found my cubby. Im sorry about what I did, I didn’t mean to hurt them; my cooking isn’t usually that bad. I left a map of where I buried them if you want to go find them. Say bye to mum and dad for me.

Woah... sorry it was so long, and probably a bit crud. Its rather late and im not bothered to read it. Basically this guy is a human boy who is about 15 years old, and i figure he will be a scout.

More skill focused than anything else, he would have ranks in alot of craft, knowleges and professions. Although he never actually intended to become an adventurer, he was kinda pulled into the life. Im thinking (from the way i wrote it) he will be like a usual teenage. Some what disrespectfull of others with an "in your face" attitude.

Any comments? (Again, sorry for the poor writing, its late)

Interesting character.
One suggestion I'd throw in is maybe

"Sometimes they showed me a little knick knack about adventuring. Once this burglar-explorer treasure finder guy showed me how to pick a lock. I practiced on my mom and dads lock for a week or so, but I got bored before I actually managed to pick it"

On second thought, its rather lengthy coming out, but maybe throwing in the parties teaching him little knick knacks.

Also, you could make him slightly paranoid about strange leaves or completely against using poisons... for "unknown" reasons.

Overall, I like the idea a lot.
