| Decinious01-31-07, 11:44 PM | Let's ignore the balance factor of the situation for a moment... Would a wizard have any in game knowledge of the effects of a Tome of Clear thought on skills? Now, if I had a Wizard able to create a Tome, even if I was never allowed to play his offspring, I would so be investing the exp to give them the extra skill points from level 1. Now my main question is would my character actually realize the advantage that his kids would gain from the int or is this just Metagame thinking on my part? Assume that the Wizard in question has used a Tome himself and then gained some levels so at least has some first hand experience in the effects of the Tome. |

It would be overall better (and I believe cost less XP and gold) to just cast Wish on the offspring to raise their ability scores before they reach maturity. Maybe only raise Intelligence and Wisdom until they hit adulthood though. That would allow them to (argueably) mature faster mentally. Also, it prevents a situation of a 6 year old overpowering their parents physically. |
