Hello everyone,

My character Inja has a dillema to deal with at the moment. I am not sure how to handle the situation.

I will first give you her character background (short version)before introducing the problem that she has at the moment.

Background:
"She and her twinsister were born on a cold winter night. They both had a mark on their back just like every woman in the family. The mark resembles a snake crawling over a pentagram. It was the sign that sorcery was in their blood. The day the girls were birthed their father died as he was struck by lightning.
All women in the Osiris family were born with the gift of sorcery and all carried the same mark. All those women suffered from the same curse that passes from generation to generation.
The twin girls developed their magical abilities quickly. They started using simple magic as babies. Their mother encouraged the magical developments and monitored it closely.
Emilia (their mother) worked day and night to find a way to get of the family curse. While Emilia was working the girls played inside the castle and in it's beautiful gardens. The girls were very close and developed a telepathic link with one another.
The girls have a wonderful time living in the castle. Emilia summoned a gravecrawler one day. She used the gravecrawler to get information from dead family members. This seemed to work quiet well.
One day when Emilia went to the gravecrawler, she noticed that it had escaped. The lock was opened and she was sure she had locked the cage. In the next days the population of the village nearby slowly turned into stone. Every days new victims were found. The village people suspected that the Familie Osiris was responsible for this (which is not far from the the truth). They hired some mercenaries to get rid of the familie.
On a cold night in december the castle was attacked by a group of mercenaries. Most soldiers were caught off guard. Emilia brought her two daughters to two cavaliers. The two cavaliers had to bring the two girls to the nunnery.
Emilia died that evening, while her daughters were chased by a few men of the mercenary force. The cavaliers decided to extinguish their torches, to improve the odds of their escape. They escaped in the darkness of the night, riding blindly on their horses. At dawn they realised that they had lost each other. Inja was safely delivered to the nunnery but her sister Indra had vanished without a trace."

The Curse:
All that are loved by the wearer of the mark, will die an unexpected death. (struck by lightning, trampled by horses in the stables........)
The curse has more aspects than this, but I will leave it at this.

Well, Inja did stay at the nunnery for almost a year. After that she couldn't stand it anymore to be imprisoned by the walls that kept her save. She joined a knightly order. On her adventures with the order she fell in love with a man called Johny Walker (drunken master). She knows that her love for him will kill him. She is not sure what to do. Should she tell him about the curse, and how? Do something else?

Keep in mind that she is very young (16 years) and her alignment is Neutral Good.

What should she do? How should I roleplay this?

I can give more info if you necessary.

Jonny Walker... drunken master! thats great... got to keep reading then I can comment some more...

edit: ... + spelling
okay, so how about your socerery (sp?) is being controlled by the demon/devil with the pact, but he can only see into your mind. Your dreams, etc. By building a closer relationship with this man, you know that you will bring him to the attention of the demon/devil. The demon can't come there, but he can cast his magic through you (with the intention of hurting him to hurt you, which makes him happy/gives him power). So you must avoid the man, when you are not strong/in control.

I will give a bit more info on the curse, so everybody understands.

- Whenever Inja experiences negative emotions (hate, anger, sadness, fear.......) , there is a chance that her spells become evil spells from BoVD. It is up to the DM when this happens exactly. So instead of casting Greater Invisibility she might cast Wrack on the person she is trying to hide from.
- Whenever negative emotions overtake her she starts talking in Dark Speech. She can only stop talking this way when she can master her emotions again.
-Whenever she is on holy ground on whenever someone tries to turn undead in her prescence, she is subject to a Symbol of Pain spell (3.0 version).
- All persons that she falls in love with will die in a very unexpected way. (She has once experienced this when the stableguy was trampled by the horses)

Her father was also subject to the curse and was struck by lightning when the twin was born.

Kreger: I like the idea of avoiding Johny Walker, but she is not sure if this will work. She loves him and finds it difficult to let him go.

Now how to roleplay her? Whenever a man starts to chat more closely with her, she closes herself like an oyster. She fears to fall in love, because the last thing she wants is to lost someone she loves in a dramatic way. She could either say she took a vow of chastity (but that doesn't prevent her to platonicly love a man), or even spread the word she is lesbian. (I have nothing agaisnt lesbians, it's just not her ;))

Also, she should be very secretive about her past. Firstly to turn any eventual admirers, secondly because it's not a good idea to spread the word that you suffer from a curse, and fled her home because villagers killed her mother who summoned a gravecrawler.

It's hard to get help. Because whenever she tell her history to someone she respect, this person is likely to fall in love with her (a sorceress should have a high charisma, yes?) and will soon die. So she could only ask for help to people she despises (i.e. evil tendencies NPCs). And because she associates with evil character, she gets a bad reputation.

Inja is now in a group of goodies.

A LG Human Fighter / Cavalier / divine something....
A LG Aasimar Paladin / Cavalier
A NG Half-Celestial Cleric / Hospitaler
A LG Minotaur Paladin
And Johny Walker Tweaked version of the monk and Drunken Master (I don't know his alignment).

Inja indeed has a very high charisma (25).

Inja has fallen in love with Johny Walker, she couldn't help it. Love cannot be stopped.

Maybe I will use the idea of a vow of chastity. She might lie to Johny that she has taken a vow of chastity.
On the other hand, she is in love and she really needs someone that she can trust.
She certainly won't say that she is lesbian (she isn't), I think my group would start to act funny when I would tell them she is lesbian (a lot of "jokes" and "funny" remarks are to be expected).
