I have been introduced into a new campaign that is meant to play as a traditional, roleplaying based adventure, and thus have been asked to design a character based around roleplaying instead of optimization.

My idea is fairly unique. His name is Buhtraype and he is a tiefling vow of poverty monkthat devoted his life to slaying children and stealing people's posessions. Even though he has vow of poverty he still has a house and loads of stolen posessions that he hires a guard to keep watch over. He doesn't keep anything with him, though, and thus can keep VoP. He is amazingly nice and honest on the surface, but it is just a facade. Really, he is a deceptive manipulative person. Even though he is a wordly tiefling, he still involves himself in politics of humans. He currently sits on parliaments of many human empires, using a stolen hat of disguise to pretend to be different people. Basically, his motives are all for personal wealth and power but because he has taken a vow of poverty he stores it in his house far away. I intend on taking the saint template in a few levels.

Buhtraype shouldn't be too hard to roleplay, but I am still open to suggestions. One suggestion I got was that not only does Buhtraype steal children's belongings but also eat them afterwards. I don't know about that yet, but please help me out.

I am open to suggestions, but keep in mind he is a lawful good vow of poverty monk and this character / campaign is based entirely on roleplaying.

Thanks again

How can you justify being exalted Lawful good and slaughtering children.

Satire much? ;)

That name would be great for a Tiny Viper familiar. Enemies would be seriously uncomfortable at his mere presence. :D

Using a hat of disguise makes you lose vow of poverty... congrats on your wasted feat, that will not return after an atonement spell.

Your post better be a bad joke.

Why can't he be a LG character who slaughters children?

Regarding eating kids: Since you have bonus exalted feats anyway, I'd say one interesting approach, from an RP perspective, is to take Vow of Purity. Then you would not be permitted to eat dead children, but if you managed to eat pieces of the flesh while they were still alive, you could manage it. To fulfill your vow, I guess you'd want to grapple the kids, make some sort of bite attack, ripping their flesh off and swallowing it while they're still alive, consistent with your sacred vows and empowerment by the Forces of Good.
