Hi. I'm trying to make a wizard that is an inventor only, his heavy mace is designed as a wrench and his helper is an armadillo lycan effigy he made himself that is learning how to be more human in personality and emotions. He designed this helper to do the more vigorous combat for him and embewed his bodily parts with stuff an artificer would. Thing is I don't know if I should have straight wizard or straight sorcerer with the prestigue class effigy master or try to multiclass between wizard and artificer. I mean, they're technically both the same besides spells and the wizard having less artificer abilities. Which is more safer?

Unless I read your post incorrectly you want to play an item based inventor. If I have made a mistake in this please give me/us a better idea of what you are trying to do with this character?

*If you are trying to make an item based inventor you should have craft skills or friends/allies who are crafters

*What world/system are you playing in?

Oh it's not for anything else. it's for in theory. I'm trying to make an inventor that can make items and effigy's, since I doubt warforges are buildable being they're a race. Either that or I make a warforge of an armadillo lycanthrope imagery and use the skill leadership with my items/weapons/anamatron creator.

I would suggest you to go to the Classes and Prestige Classes board, people there might know better the details of each class.

But why don't you just play an Artificer?
