I plan to play a Dwarven Paladin/Templar devoted to the temples of the Dwarven pantheon. He wears glammered plate mail in the guise of robes from his temple. Im thinking if he walked through a city and the guards found out about his armor that he may be arrested for concealing a martial item from the magistrative eye? would you consider the robe appearance an unlawful act? if so do you feel it is an atoneable circumstance?

i really doubt armor would be considered a martial item; unless you plan to take it off and bludgeon someone to death with it, its only use is defensive, and it's not even obvious at that. i'd say you can walk around in metal clothes all you want, as long as you're not carrying fifteen weapons you should be fine.

I just thought it may be posed as a threat. like a person who wears a bullet proof vest under his clothes and is then discovered by police. just as most guards will not frown on my Dwarf carrying his temple issued greataxe but may look down on the rogue with knives hidden all over his body.

well, depends on the setting, of course, but i'd say they wouldn't have a real problem with it, esp since they look like cleric robes. they might even assume they're temple-issued just like the axe. (which could result in people giving your temple a little more respect if they think that all the other robes are just like yours, heh.)

a very good point. I havent written whether the armor was given to me or a spoil of my battles. since no one could probably craft better then Dwarves and the top magic crafters are most likley clerics im going to write my "temple issued" armor robes into my storyline as a gift to the Templars.
