Kaledram is a Dwarven Cleric of Hanseath. Domains are War and Travel. Now, im curious on a decent background for the character. I was thinking something about him being in a war, his family was killed, and now he is traveling to forget his faimly or something of the sort(to incoporate the domains he has chosen).

Ide like not to play him as the steriotypical dwarf, ide like him to be civilized, and, though not the smartest, most brightest peson in the world, he likes to think things through thoroughly as to not mess it up.

Any ideas would be awsome as I'm starting the game pretty soon.

Rather than having his family killed, how about having them do something which he cannot come to terms with. For example, maybe they fled, rather than stand and fight. Maybe they looted the house of neighbour (who had been killed). Maybe they were violent, when peace would have been better. Whatever...

So, the chracter leaves home, and refuses to speak with them again. He travels widely, finds a new life, and then would even rather forget that he is a dwarf. He takes on the civilised traits of other races, learns new languages, seeks new culture, pretends to be something that he is not - and many believe him, too. After a while, he calms down, but rather than seeing the good in them, he continues to pursue his new course - a matter of pride. Perhaps pride was something that was denied to him as a youth. Who knows.

Good luck with your character.

That sounds cool, seeing as he knows (other than base languages) Elven and Celestial.

I also like to play dwarves out of the the racial stereotype, and be more sophisticated(sp?). He is though, disgusted at the way humans try to hold their ale (though one drinking game my DM made is kinda fun abd it involves drinking till one person passes out).
