EvilVegan 05-24-05, 01:09 AM	Startled awake by a loud bang on her door, the young girl jerked to a sitting position. The interior of her coach was dimly lit by the thin crack of blue-grey evening streaming in under the door. Wiping away the layer of sweat on her brow, she silently thanked whomever woke her for chasing away the demons that always haunted her sleeping hours. Quickly changing into her evening clothes and her evening body, she stood in front of her floor-length mirror to assure herself that everything was in place. The gruff voice of Keshka thudded solidly through the door, "It's dusk, you're on in fifteen minutes, Kid." Sighing to herself the being called "Kid" gracefully eased her way through the coach, heading to the stage for another evening earning her meager living with the travelling theater troupe that had raised her from childhood. She had outgrown them long ago and wondered when she would find the courage to move on with her life . . . ------------------- So I'm thinking about playing the above character. . . Her father is a human, her mother was a changeling. Her mother was turned into a vampire while pregnant. The father didn't know that his wife was a changeling, and was disgusted with the child. She was orphaned (either by her father, after killing her mother, when he discovered her changeling nature, or by both when her mother came and turned her father into a vampire.) I'm planning on playing her as a reserved and depressed person with many repressed issues. She has a definite feminine personality, but has no qualms about switching genders to suit her needs. Not sure which way to go with the parents/orphan line of thought, nor what to do about her current parrent issues, such as is the vampire that made her into a half-vampire still alive, does she know things about him, etc? Are either of her parents still alive? I'm obviously going dirge singer, not sure what to do after that point. . . not worried about spell casting too much, and not sure if I want to go seeker of the song because its a little to "nukey" for the somber tone. Thoughts/comments?
Ashianyl 05-24-05, 01:52 AM	Love the concept. :) First, my comment would be about your character's goals... you seem to be missing that for this character. Obviously you will be going adventuring with the other players, so... what is your motivation for doing that? About the background... for characters like these, I like making multiple backgrounds and giving it all to the DM. Just say that they are all rumours that she uncovered and let the DM work out which are the truths and which aren't. Mechanics wise, how do you intend to play the vampire template? It would be rather frustrating for your party if you can't go out in the day... :)
