| aravilar_holistacia04-27-04, 01:03 AM | The situation is thus: A princess is running from her evil brother, who wants to take away the throne from her. She summons the Royal Guard to aid her in escaping the empire. Each of the Knights of the Guard has an elemental power, such as Fire or Wind. How would you roleplay a character with Lightning as his power? What personality traits would he have? What would be his alignment? Et cetera, et cetera. I figured that you'd have a person who is sure of himself, and perhaps a bit cocky, even. Your Lightning Knight might be a show-off, too. But beyond those few things, I think I've hit the writers' block. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. :) |

If you don't have access to that material, let me tell you that Ciphers seek to fuse instincts and responses, thoughts with movement. They don't want to think, but act, in the metaphysical sense. I picture the Knight of Lightning as an arrogant but clever fellow, quick to take a decision and speak it. He always prompts the others into action, and he cannot stand delays and parleys when he feels so much needs to be done, in so little time. His social shortcomings are balanced by an acute sense of duty and loyalty. Interestingly, he's always late for every appointment he makes. That'll make him stand out in the eyes of your players, for sure. :) As for his alignment, I'd say perhaps NG. The knight doesn't care much how the work gets done, provided it's done fast. If he needs to break a law, he won't hesitate... but still, he's a knight AND a representative of his queen, so that might not be fitting. In terms of game mechanics, I figure you must have picked every possible initiative-boosting feat, didn't you? That guy needs to go first. |

Scribes are community volunteers who do FAQs and other special projects. ^_^ There is a thread in the RPG metaboard somewhere about the usergroup. ;) |
