What kind of personality would a basic kobold PC have? I was gonna play a CG Psion (Egoist or maybe Keneticist) female. Would they be kinda jumpy and skittish? I was thinking about doing something like early after meeting the adventuring party I would take the last watch at night and make some fried eggs for them at breakfast from my own eggs, then tell em afterwards that they got a peice of me ( )

Any suggestions?

Well, for kobolds reproduction (eggs) are purely for multiplying (according to Races of the Dragon) and the eggs are sent to the tribes "nurseries" so you won't know what children are 'yours' even if you cared.

The typical kobold is LE so a CG kobold is not likely to be the typical kobold.

Pick up Races of the Dragon, it's invaluable for playing a kobold... and it has some cool pictures too...

Umm... I think Trin was talking about doing that just for fun. Besides if a kobold is adventuring... I don't think its gonna run off to the nearest kobold nursery when it needs to lay eggs. As a DM... I think that would be a great way to mess with the other characters in the party and I would actually reward bonus XP just for the ROFLMAO factor.

Another thing is... as far as their alignment goes: There are often "rogue" aligned characters. I love to play characters that go against the flo. Besides which... there are also a number of DMs that won't allow evil characters (like me) and don't mind making allowances for characters to play non-standard races.

That is pretty much how I was wanting to steer this character. I would be a good Kobold who has shunned my brethren's evil ways and taken to a life of wandering the lands trying to find a place or a people in which I would "fit-in."

As far as the alignment issue, my two (2, heh, I gots it good) DMs both refuse to allow evil aligned PCs so best case (or maybe it's worst case depending on your PoV) I could play a CN character. I actually TRIED to convince one of them to lemme play a bad guy, and this was the result: :banghead:

So rather than going like LN or as close as you can be to a typical kobold and be non-evil, your two DMs pushed you into playing an egg-laying Drizzt DuKobold? :uh-huh:

You wish to get Races of the dragon in order to learn the true meaning of the word petisse.
It also illustrates how kobolds can work quite well in a campaign (as long as there are no gnomes around... no gnomes the party isn't supposed to kill, anyway).
