Charir Isk (Fire Star)

Description:
Charir stands tall for a kobold coming to a height of almost 3 ft tall. He normally wears a black robe with the hood up to conceal his appearance although his glow likes red hot coals from beneath the hood. His scales are oily black color as if was completely smeared with tar. His teeth are like blades of Onyx, and so are his claws.

History:
It’s hard to believe that my life started just 9 years ago, I’ve come so far and since so much in that time it’s amazing to me that most of the hated children haven’t even left their Mother’s apron strings yet. By the will of Kurtulmak I still live to write this tale in hopes that some day I will once again be reunited with my kind. Yet not too soon, their something about traveling the sea that makes this seems as if it was a plan and not just a series of events.
Well I’ve been told that the best place to start is at the beginning but it might be better to give you a little knowledge into what I am first. All creatures know of the great dragons that fly the sky, yet it us the kobold the lies forgotten in their wake. When dragons first gave up their immortal existence we were created from there very blood, and as such we have an innate knowledge into the magic that runs through are very blood. Once in a great while a kobold will be born that is a tied very close to there great ancestors. I was born dragon wrought.
The wings of a dragon sprout from my back and my breath is that of lighting which can strike my foes. Since the moment I hatched from the egg my life has been filled with the preparation to become the All-Watcher of my clan. My childhood was one of great joy as the tribe instructed me in awakening the gifts of the dragon, and learning my place in the tribe. All things were as they should in till the Great War began, a vile group of gnomes tried to drive us from are land. They sought the great mythril deposits in our mines, and we will never stand a gnome to live. So that fight began, and with its start began my role as a war chief.
I led a small band of my clan to strike against these gnomes to raid and disappear, to strike deep into their heart and keep the occupied while we gathered for a great offensive to drive them from our lands. It began so well, we struck hard against their supply lines or torched their commander’s tents. We even used sundark goggles to strike them mid day when they would least expect it. It was not in till the humans came that the tide turned. On the night of new moon great ships off human landed on the beach we knew not why they came but we feared they would join with our enemies and destroy them.
Our fears were realized when they joined together and our lines were pushed back the council gave the order to fall back. And I knew that we would soon leave this place I called home for some many years. These humans had come from the great deep, and they had brought our downfall. It was than I knew that I must find some way for us to master the waves to allow us the same advantages that doomed my people. I spoke to the elders of my tribe, and they laughed at me. Saying that we were destined to be beneath the earth not to ride the waves, I was outraged. I was Dragon Wrought. How could the say that my idea had no merit. So that very night I set out to full fill my destiny.
I traveled for a long time doing my best to avoid humans. Although I did spend several weeks along the edge of a gnome village preying upon their people, and eating there young, I took from them this mythril shield to remind me of what I am doing so that I never lose heart. Finally, I found a ship a great vessel but I was unsure how to approach the ship and learn its secrets. It was than that my goddess provided me with my path, as I sat there watching the ship one of their boats came ashore. Only one man was in the boat and he struggled greatly as he tried to wrestle I large chest to the beach.
My curiosity got the better of me and I began to draw closer, as the man stuggled to dig a hole in the beach. As I watched the edge of the hole disintegrated and the chest fell upon him trapping him. This was my chance, I quickly approached and offered him a deal. I would save his life if he would take me on and train me in the ways of the sea. I had timed my arrival just as the first waves of the tide began to crest over the top of the hole. He quickly agreed and I saved his life as he swore upon Umberlee to take his life if he broke his pact.
So my life as a sailor began. And with it I have found a new tribe, one that fights well. I only had to kill one of them to earn my place although it seems a waste of meat to through him over the side.
