| m33p012-15-05, 09:25 PM | this is my backstory... (i named my character meepo) meepo was not born of magic talent. he spent many years perfecting his wizard skills. shortly after finishing his studies the dreaded gnomes infiltrated there cave while all were asleep. meepo managed to escape and now lives like a hermit in a cave of his own all the while plotting against the wretched gnomes. i want my character to be like gollum when he sees gnomes. like "the wretched gnomeses meepo will kill them all" and he will become enraged as he remebers his past when he sees a gnome. anymore that i could add and what prestige class do you think would fit this. "meepo's eyes became wide and full of furry when he saw the gnome. the gnome had brought him no harm but meepo swore an oath to rid the world of gnomes and he could not let this one slip away with out paying for his peoples crimes. he raised his arms. his infuriated eyes rolled back as he began to utter in arcane words. his arms then came closer and a ball of red formed. his eyes returned to normal and then he released the ball. it sped towards the gnome, he turned around just as it hit him square in the face. his head was incinerated and his body flew into a wall from the force of the blast." |

Anyways I like you backstory, perhaps he will become an alienist as his desire to destroy gnomes grows into an obsession. The PrC will represent him going insane as he taps into more alien powers to destroy his foes. P.S. Lets hope our characters never meet. Mine is a Gnome fighter/barbarian who is an anticaster. He destroys kobolds and any casters on sight. Here is the link to his backstory. http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=8079483#post8079483 |

Insanity plus (at 10th level) some minor physical deformation (albeit not exactly the sort of "degenerationm" that Gollum suffered). The problem with it is that Alienist insanity is not mundane, run of the mill psychosis. It is an (shamelessly Lovecraftian) insanity that springs from learning secrets of existence that mortals were not meant to discover. Alienists spend so much of their time studying beings from beyond (byond even the planes as we tend to know them) that it might be hard to focus on killing gnomes. At least being in a different form would strip them of some of the anti-kobold bonuses (their +1 attack bonus and some of the stuff from Races of Stone, like the Gnome Foe Killer feat). It might be interesting to see a Blood Magus or Master Transmogrifist, as both seem capable of making the most of your wizard skills and potentially deadly to gnomes (especially a Master Transmogrifist with a few well-chosen favored shapes. Asking your DM for an evil version of a Vigilante (with Detect Good, rather than Detect Evil, Smite the Do-Gooders rather than Smite the Wicked, etc.) would also be interesting, though that PrC is easier for a rogue to take). Too bad there's no Stonedeath Assassin for kobolds. |
