“The strong liquor brings me back to reality. It returns me from my facade. These imprudent noble girls, smelling of pomegranate and promiscuity, lotions and potions, are ever alluring. To fight these urges is to fight my manhood. This internal dichotomy is my present endeavor; until I remember. Remember her. Remember why I am here. Remember that when the moon hides again under the Sun’s mantle, there will simply not be enough perfumes to cover the smell of retribution. He is his own goblet, spilling his red on the floor. I am just here to tip the glass.”

-Excerpt from Lawfer Griffith, enacting vigilante justice on a wicked noble

The characters background is a sad one. Growing up poor in a small village he was never able to escape the caste system. When times became harder his life-long childhood friend (and engaged wife) was due to be sold off as a bride to a distant noble (a family decision to gather enough money to save their dying father). When he caught wind of this he attempted to run off with her – only to be hunted by the girls new “owner”. During their escape the girl was mortally wounded (an arrow meant for Lawfer) and the boy was nearly killed. He managed to escape and crawl back to his village. After seeking medical attention from the local doctor/priest, and passing enough time to distance himself from the noble, he made his way to his father-in-laws house to seek reprisal on himself. There he was met with harsh words and a fierce beating by the girl’s uncle. The girl’s father, unaware that his daughter was to be sold for his benefit and now awake from his fever induced coma, raised himself out of his deathbed to approach young Lawfer. In a contest of his willpower the man reached down to strangle the boy, but after seeing the anguish in his eyes he felt only pity and remorse. A fair and good man, the father simply pulled Lawfer in and they wept together – wept until the man died in Lawfer’s arms.

These profound events dramatically changed Lawfer’s life. He was just an innocent child seeking the small joys that life brings a peasant who inevitably became entangled in the fickle fingers of fate. Now he seeks to right the injustices that the fates decide – he chooses to bring to justice the only people above it: the nobles.

--End—

That being said I think I’m going to play this character as a Chaotic Good/Robin Hood character. More intrigue though. He will infiltrate society as a noble and enact his justice from within. A charming young swashbuckler trained in the arts of nobility. He keeps his friends close, but his enemies closer.

What do you guys/girls think? Any advice?

It seems pretty good. I can't help but think you got this Idea from Valkryie Profile, although I might be mixing up Lawfer's and Lleylwen's backstories....
