| chipstacking12-30-06, 01:57 AM | Hello all. I am about to start a campaign in which I will be playing a LN high elf Ultimate mage. I will be a beguiler/wiz combo to enter the ultimate mage prestige class. We will be playing mostly in the planes. So we will start out in Sigil. I am horrible at creating a back story and personality, but pretty good at playing the character once I have those figured out. I am looking for help for ideas for this guy. Anything would be much appreciated. Thanks! |
| Meems12-30-06, 04:43 PM | I had a LN High Elf in an AD&D game once. (Still have him, actually.) He was a fighter, though. He was very aristocratic and deliberately effeminite--I wanted to play on the pretty-boy elf stereotype. The LN part manifested mostly with his idea that absolutly everything should be fair and equal. This was in an evil party, and the other characters hated him. I don't know if any of that helps, though. |

He hated dwarves, and was stuck solving a murder mystery for them in one of their cities. He was drunk the entire time and made disparaging comments about 'short, wide' people incessantly. He was a 'battlefield controller' before I knew what that meant, and directed the activities of the other PC's from a higher vantage point (either through judicious uses of fly or simply higher ground inside of his minor globe of invulnerability). Orderly, neat, imperious, yet fair in all respects, giving respect where it was due, and above all - law-abiding. A firm believer in being in a position of authority that that authority bound him tighter than those whom he ruled under it. (Great example: I know you hate it when police officers turn their lights on to avoid waiting 45 seconds at a red light, or make illegal left turns - don't do that, play the opposite - 4 miles under the speed limit, always using turn signals, etc.) Hope that helps a little. |

| chipstacking01-01-07, 05:39 PM | oh, and names. I am sooooo bad at coming up with names. =/ |
| Meems01-03-07, 08:49 AM | Maybe he was told to go there by a superior? LN, following orders and so on. As for names... Sorry, can't help you there. With most of my characters, I end up stringing letters together until I find something that sounds appropriate for their race/class/setting. |
