I wanted to make a roleplaying challenge for myself. I've played all alignments but generally prefer Lawful characters over Chaotic characters, and it is in my personality to bring characters together on a task. Here's a potential character I'm working on now.

Dragon Shaman / Knight
RP hook: I serve an evil dragon organization that is either blue or green. My character servers this organization generally out of fear and does their bidding because I am afraid of the repercussions. In their service however, I have a small amount of wealth, status, and power. I may be evil, but I far more lawful then evil. You have my Word on that, too.

Fighting style: I am a Knight, I fight with a strict code of honor. When fighting starts, I will do everything I can to protect the people that travel with me because they are useful to my cause. Out of combat, I may have differences of opinion to the CG cleric, but in combat I have great respect for his abilities and he has for me. I am a great team player and will work with any alignments, so long as it server my organizations goals. I look forward to duels with the opposing leader because I want them to surrender to the might of my dragon organization. They have my word after they surrender they will not be harmed unless they resist (in which case I will be brutal), and I will likely deliver them as slaves to my organization as tribute.

My philosophy and other PCs: I will likely insult (in game of course) the other PCs over their charitable ways, and I will need a good reason why I would risk my safety to save innocent people. I'm not saying I'm stubborn as a mule, but I do require something more then 'because it'll do some good!' In fact, it is my belief that one must fight to stay alive. If a village is under attack by orcs, they should defend it themselves. If they lose, the civilians didn't deserve it in the first place.

Possible hooks to the GM: Obviously I'd need to work with the GM in see how my organization functions in the world. I like the idea that my share of the loot goes to my organization - just like how a Paladin. I will ask the GM to not have my organization mettle too much because that leads to more enemies. We could say that my loyality goes to the very top of the organization, and if you must make my organization an enemy, then it will be lower-tiered members trying to usurp the higher members. This way, I can fight and kill my own organization if it must come to that.

People who say all evil must be killed off: Do not judge me until you have been in my shoes. I serve because disservice will mean a life time of torment, and I am afraid of that. Besides, I have a wide arrange of abilities in combat that will likely save you and your vaunted innocent people from peril. In time (and if I'm a really good at my character), you'll see I'm not that bad of a guy. I'm loyal to the group, and look, I oppose other evil organizations too. I will slay that cleric creating undead just as much as you do. Granted I have ulterior motives but don't concern yourself with that. The fact remains the village is safe.

Good enough. But i'd make that dragon organisation into a semi-powerful dragon and her spoilt young, who often call for favours from you, but generally leave you to do your own thing, since you as of now are of very little utility to their plans [hope you're starting at a lower level].But they see the potential in you, that's why they've given you all that you have
