yeah
im thinking of making a Link clone character
without him actually being Link
but very much like him.

i got everything down.

but alignment....

my friend says he's chaotic good and i guess
i could understand that being that
he does just barge into people's houses
and break their pots
but i feel he's lawful good
or just in a way sort of paladin-like
flavor wise.

any suggestions?

He's Chaotic Evil. He breaks into people's houses, steals their stuff, breaks what he can't carry with him, and overthrows the lawful ruler of the Kingdom.

Oh, and he tortures chickens. That just screams CE to me.

Link's alignment, along with the rest of his personality, tends to vary from game to game. Which game did you have in mind?

As for the pot thing, this is just expected behaviour for any heroic character in a computer RPG or adventure game, so it should not count against his alignment.

Nonsense. Just because it's done in other universes doesn't mean it's right.

Neutral Good. All he does is just save the land, based on the Zelda games I have played. He just does good.

I second Bolshak's opinion. Neutral good.

I third it (if that's possible) He does goed for no other reason but to do good. I dont see any way why he would be either lawful or chaotic.

He is just like Robin Hood.. steals from the rich (people with houses) and gives to himself to help everyone else!

I have to go with the flow, and say Neutral good.

Psh...No one can hate neutral good. Just a guy that does what's good for the world and likes to do it, mmhmm.

I think he's chaotic good. He's definitely out to improve the world and people's lives, no one could reasonably dispute that. His methods, however, are erratic, and at times underhanded and deceitful. I think Link is a dedicated, powerful force for goodness, but he's got no problem with flatly ignoring (and directly circumventing) honour, order and tradition if they get in the way of doing the right thing.

Well, he's not Lawful at all, if he was expected to do things the 'Lawful' way then Zelda wouldn't be all "I've got a secret mission for you!" in almost all of the games (espcially OoT.) I'd probably have to go with the popular vote that he's Neutral Good. Just doing good for the sake of doing good, no matter what.

...overthrows the lawful ruler of the Kingdom.

When has that ever happened? Are you seriously calling Ganon the "lawful ruler" of Hyrule???
