so i need a little help. my hexblade/rogue was disintegrated last game by diving face-first into lava, so i'm working on a new character for our next session. i decided on making a lizardfolk, and since druid was the favored class and something i've been wanting to try out, but now i've got a bit of a problem. i've got to make him fit into the current party, or at least not get slaughtered by them straight out.

lizardfolk are pretty much evil in this world, so i was thinking maybe he would be a loner sort whose tribe was killed by crusading knights as a child and captured by them as a slave. there, he was indoctrinated with all kinds of crap basically saying he's inherently evil and will go to hell and how great humans are. then he's ditched and left on his own, and so he's striving to do good and save himself under his already misguided assumptions. what do you all think, and any suggestions?

also, i'm limited by my dm on weapon choices, so i was thinking i'd take the improved natural weapon (?) and multiattack feats in the monster manual. would this be too much of a waste?
thanks! :ayyyy!:

Yipe! Sounds like quite a messed up character.

Incidentally, consider making his alignment LN.

He could swing either way... either learn about what Good really is, or allow that secret hatred he must've had for the people who kept him as slaves to come out, and end up going to Evil.

Beware of loner characters. You need to give them a good reason to adventure with the party--ASAP. A personal attachment is best; a debt of honor works too. Just make sure it will tie your character to the party indefinitely.

good idea, Callista. i'll make him lawful neutral, actually, so he's a character that tries to do good under his misguided ideals but resorts to evil in the end, causing him to believe the bad things said about him and making him want to do even more good.... weeee!
i think he'll be attached to the party by latching on particularly to a paladin in it and trying to join up with him as a do-gooder and to try to impress him.

any comments on the natural weapons feats?

as for the weopon feats try the optimization boards but i would make him neutral good but uses evil means to do it like he would kill to save the person he is attached to this also works with true neutral i would make him become attached to the person who shows the first act of kindness to him

Erm... a Neutral Good character doesn't use evil means to do Good... that is a Neutral thing, period. Include Lawful because he's really constrained by what his former masters told him was "right" to do, and you have LN.

At your option, he can easily go either from LN to NG; or he can go from LN to LE (this of course poses problems with the Druid class).
