Greetings all:

I will be playing in a new game which looks to be a high-powered sweat dream. :) Basically we are all starting at lvl 5 and will be playign Gestalt characters. Any race is allwed except for fey creatures as the campaign will primarily take place in the fey lands.

I think I have picked my race, a Ghale Eladrin (Official Art (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG94.jpg) ). Arguably I picked Ghale because with a 20 level progression it makes the gestalt build easy, one side will be Ghale racial levels all the way up to 20. In addition the race has excellent powers and ability modifiers. As can be expected I began to feel somewhat empty about the choice, I still had no idea what the character would be like and I want to resist the stereotype put forth by the excellent official artwork.

So the idea occured to me. Imagine a tall female form (not certain that Ghale are truly male or female) (7'-9') who is slender, with pale, ivory hued skin, long strait hair the color of ravens wings in the sunlight, and a finly boned face with a prominent nose. Perhaps in globe of light form she is actually a globe of darkness that casts only shadowy illumination? Some outsiders from the chaotic planes are out running naked in the sun, drinking hard and living free but what of those who live in thier underground? What about those who would rather feel cool stone under thier feet instead of warm grass?

So now my challenge is to trancend the hard-drinking, bar-fighting image of Chaotic Good and somehow meld it with this Poe-like image.

I will gladly accept any suggestions, on any facet of the character form name to personality to equipment, to color schemes. Thanks to all who offer thier input!

I like this headshot as a base model for the characters head. Though I do imagine her nose to be a bit larger and her features to be more gaunt. Sort of like a towering, female, chaotic good, Professor Snape.

This piece of art evokes a lot of the feeling of the character for me. Though it is loosly based upon a chinese myth I do not see the character as having any chinese flair and coudl easily see somethign like this as the art on the first page a book Poe would write.

Particularily I like the contrast of the crows with the sun, something often viewed with fondness (the sun) and something often viewed as sinister (the crow).

Name: Aiakos ("bewailing" or "earth borne")

Some Ghale are shining beacons of life and vibrance. Aiakos is not one of them. Like a certain fraction of her sisters she prefers to roam the undergrounds of thier home plane. These Ghale feel that their more extroverted sisters are missing the simple pleasures in life, the feel of cool stone under your feet, the silent darkness of a deep cavern, quiet time for thought and reflection.

Lest you think these Ghale apathetic know that only woe betides any evil creature who thinks that they can slip into Arborea unseen under the surface.

Ghalea that live underground tend to be more philosophical and artistic than thier surface-dwelling sisters. Ghale-crafted shrines to good and other philosophical concepts are stunning and ever changing works of art that are changed and improved by each Ghale that visits them, either to express thier already formidable talents or to develop new ones.

Aiakos is an ambitious young Ghale that arose from the creative radiance of Arborea only 7,000 years ago. Eary on she enjoyed revels with her sisters and their rustic cousins the Coure and Bauriars but Aiakos found herself set apart. She was a self-imposed exile in many revels as she oft wondered what lasting good could come of such revels. it is not that she did not appreciate a great tale or a fine mead, she was concerned however that it had become more of an end to itself.

The problems of evil and oppression concerned Aiakos and she left to the underground to find quiet in which to think. Over the next few thousand years Aiakos found solice in quite debate and silent meals with her pensive sisters. She took up painting and caligraphy as a mean by which to place her ideas into another form, to inspect them from the outside.

After much time she has come upon it. All law beyond the True Maxim (The Golden Rule) is a chain to the mind and all society that exists beyond the pursuit of knowledge and beauty is but the threat of pain and violence. She now knows what to do and how to begin. Mortals must enlighten themselves, about this nothing can be done, but she can facilitate the removal of other burdens and suffering and to do this it requires an action so simple and direct that she cannot believe that the gods have not already tried it.

She will destroy society.

As she pondered the idea she came to realize that the gods had not done this because it is a treat to thier power. They rely upon the admiration and obecience of thier followers and should the world cast them away then eventually thier power will wane and they will simply fade away. By destroying society she will destroy the gods they created as well.

*************************

Aiakos will probably end up as 20 Ghale / 20 Artifacer. I have some preliminary plans which include fermenting a revival in the good churches and the druid groves to undermine the evil kingdoms in the world by creating portal to Arborea within thier borders. Instead of having Ghale pour out of these portal and cause and escalating war that woudl destroy all the mortals we will use the portal to provide endless supplies for mortal armies and the oppressed peoples. Given that a child can easily forage for food and water in Arborea a team of skilled gatherers cna feed large groups.

Without the problem of supplying the armies with food, water, fuel, etc we shoudl be abel to make some serious inroads.

Once a few evil kingdoms are crushed I will begin projects int eh good cities and lands. These project will be billed as blessings for all their good deeds and the exact nature will be kept hushed up. Once portals are set in most of the major cities the local populations will no more need to farm land or raise animals for food. All their need swill be provided with minimum effort viat hte portals which will be free for all to use.

Without farming and the need to protect farmland the medival D&D economy will crumble. Why work at a job you hate when you do not have to. Why die in a farmin accident when it is not necessary? Why pay taxes to a lord to protect your farm when anyone may use the portals and get all they need?

The economy will devolve into a barter system for goods made by skilled artistic laborers who ply thier crafts without the fear of starvation.

Some rulers will resist but the only reason to do so is to maintain control over others. By this time I will have been able to influence the teachings of the major churches to denote such bahavior as insane. Such persons will be left farr into the wilds of Arborea, without clothing are any other items. Where they will live out the rest of thier lives foraging from the land like thier fellow mortals and will either come to terms with thier madness or will run about looking in vain form some group of people tht they can oppress.

I further expect that this sort of intermingling with Arborea will result in an enormouse number of half-celestials and Asimars. In fact I would imagine that the classical races woudl eventually dissapear.

There is my rough plan. I would appreciate any assistance in fleshing out details and contingancies. Note that it is almost a given that I would take leadership. Ideas are welcome for suitible cohorts.

Note that this plan is to grant freedom and the potential fro happiness to all mortal creatures, including traditionally evil races such as orcs.

I am concerned of course regarding the possibility fo full-scale wars and mass exodus from the material plane. I need to work on those parts. =)

*scratches head* Maybe you have no more comments because it already seems like you've got everything thought out? I like the story, though I'm not quite sure you're going to succeed as there's an awful lot that can go wrong, and I don't really see what else to add to it.
