I've rewritten my bit and have left the original if you want to look at it, but the mass opinion was that it is too confusing. Heres the new beginnings of the background.

I'm planning on playing a Changling Shifter/MMOF as an espionage/spy/diplomat type character. I'm starting sketchy as a background and a couple of interesting traits that have resynced in my mind follow a very brief completely mutable history.

Born on the prime, raised as the baby of the family, picked on as a child he tried to keep more and more to himself. it wasn't until his early teens that the transgender confusion became more and more appearant, and it's no surprise that he wasen't really accepted anywhere. During his mid teen years his parents moved from a small town to the city in order to better provide to the family but the move sent Cony over the edge. Without the stabilizing influence of his one childhood friend Cony, feeling completely ostracized, began to pattern himself after others to better fit in. The changes started out small and simple but over time grew to more complete replica's of others. Cony acted so much like other individuals his mind became emersed in the role, almost totally convinced he was that person. One morning he woke up and subconsciously he had chosen to be someone else and for some time he would fall asleep, waking up as someone else entirely. The last person he woke up as stuck with him longer than usual, a monk. Cony went to the appropriate monastery but it had been destroyed and the order was reconstruction. Cony helped wit the building and stayed on for several years. through the continued daily meditation techniques Cony reaches peace with himself becomes "enlightened" and lapses into several months of autonomic sleep ( feed him food he eats, but wont pick up the fork to feed him self type thing).

When he wakes he finds himself with his own mind and body for the first time in many years. Whispers of memories of the last few years the only thing indicating to him what had happened. While much more stable then before his newfound control periodically slips and he once again wakes with a mind not his own and after a short time wakes again in control of himself.

I guess I've ruled out anything but psychosis as the cause of his mental lapses.

And i could still use some suggestions on how to be a "Pat" (male qualities both male and female qualities in equal proportion).

I'm looking at playing a Changling shifter/master of many forms as an espionage/spy/diplomat type character. I'm starting sketchy as a background and a couple of interesting traits that have synced in my mind follow a very brief completely mutable history.

Born on the prime, raised as the baby of the family, picked on as a child because he did not fit in anywhere. Here he'll pick up a life long girl friend whom he hasn't seen since he was 9 but has glued to his heart over time with some actual niceness done do him on her part and a laundry load of fabricated memory's. Somewhere along the way (dunno how) he ends up in limbo where he spends several years/lifetimes or something as an Anarch a person who's wish is their command and the plane makes it so. (easier than a telepath reading minds or something). After such time Something or someone (again don't know what) forces him out of the plane/banns him/allergic reaction... who knows. When he is expulsed he finds himself back on a prime (again completely mutable could be anywhere) in someone else's body with someone else's mind... then will go through a series of falling asleep and waking up as someone else entirely (in the history i'd like this be similar to the greater doppleganger's abilities) he ends up with the mind of some monk in a monastic order, finds it's been destroyed and decides to rebuild the order. After several years through teaching meditation techniques and so on and so forth becomes "enlightened" and lapses into several months of autonomic sleep ( feed him food he eats, but wont pick up the fork to feed him self type thing). After which he wakes up to find himself basically the same person he was when he was a kid (with an older body) Partial memories of grandeur from Limbo and the rest of his life after Limbo captured as whispers in his head.

Continuing from now on out, periodically he'll pop into another person type for a few days, then pop out (adding more whispers to his mind

Other than psychosis what could be some reasons for this mind/emotion/memory change.

How may he have gotten to Limbo initially?

pretty clear here but this is the easy one to figure out.

he possesses is an Anarch (see manual of the planes Limbo for details but it's basically someone who can create just about anything in Limbo)

Here I'd like some idea's how or why this character that isn't native to the plain could have so much control over it.

He's banned/locked out from the plane of limbo

Why or how could someone be banned from an entire plane? I want this because i don't see why if you were incredibly powerful in an area you'd choose to leave. Also it gives the character a purpose for adventuring.

Gender identification difficulty for the base character.

I don't know if this is possible if for the fact that i have a difficult time understanding the concept but for actual purposes of the base character i want him to be a Pat (male qualities both male and female qualities in equal proportion). I want him to be ore comfortable with someone else's face and body on, at least he knows how to act. However i need some ideas how he'd act or some role playing traits he could exemplify when his control slipped, or he was way off balance.

Other

I'm putting this here because if you have an idea that you like with the character feel free to add it but these are my primary conundrums so far.

Thanks

Oh geez...that really is unbelievably confusing, and I've read advanced physics papers for light reading...

Too many unrelatable things [monks, bodychanging, limbo existence, limbo banning, material plane childhood etc]
Tone it down.Remove one or two things either the limbo thing or the body/mind changing thing

Ok, a more helpful post than my last one...

WHY?

I guess is the question that needs to be asked.

It seems that at one point your trying to skip around the rules (making him from the material, but still get that limbo changing ability) to give him an uber ability.

Then he is body hoping... yet his mind is totally different too. Thats where stuff gets really wierd!

Jumping bodies is cool (happens all the time) as long as your mind is the same, youve got some way to deal with it. But if you mind is different, and belongs to your new body no less, youll not know anything is wrong and therefore, you wont strive to fix it.

So he is hoping mind and body for a while, then he just stops randomly in the body of a monk, so he can rebuild a temple and become its leader?

Why?

Then all of a sudden he wakes up in his own body, years later.... with or without memories of his other lives?

The whole thing is very confusing

First off, thanks for helping me start to manage my request for aid in a more understandable manner.

An Archon i agree would be an uber ability if one had the opportunity to use it. I'm looking not to use it for anything but adventure motivation. Two reasons, 1 if ever my character gets out of hand he can maneuver it so the character is able to return to limbo somehow and RP wise he'd probably stay. and 2 his time there may be a reason as to why he's so fluent in his physical form. Ok third thing, I'm looking at the whole archon thing as character history and not one that can be remembered perfectly. I want to be banned from limbo so i don't get the opportunity in game to use the power.

Then he is body hopping... yet his mind is totally different too. Thats where stuff gets really weird!

Good point, Here I'm looking more to give myself role-playing challenges that are fabricated not by me but by the GM. I see these times not as jumping body's but loss of control of the mind of the character. I expect to have difficult challenges as a player because suddenly some game I'm playing a potter or someone else for no reason at all. I've seen several people try and play multiple personality syndrome by building several different classes in which they randomly switch. I'm doing something similar i think but Switches aren't caused by anything and not into anything specific (usefully or useless no matter to me).

So he is hoping mind and body for a while, then he just stops randomly in the body of a monk, so he can rebuild a temple and become its leader?
Why?

The mind and the body subconsciously try and heal it's self in many occasions. I'm using a monk for the meditation bit, to say build an inner resistance to the changes the duration of being a monk i see as something akin to the subconscious trying to heal itself using the opportunity it was given. While i look forward to the role-playing difficulties that will be presented, i don't relish being a different person 2-3 times per game, every game.

Then all of a sudden he wakes up in his own body, years later.... with or without memories of his other lives?

Memories in the form of whispers serve 2 purposes. continual oppertunity for me to speak with the voices in my head when no one else will, and also the character (when under his normal faculty) will try and find a way to keep his memories at least those of actions he did while .... ahhh....acting as a different person.

Does this help with some of the why?

Roleplaying challenge doesn't mean piling all supernatural phenomena into one person.I'd rather you start simple and maybe add all you want eventually once you understand the basics of his nature

Much better, now you have to figure out who takes care of his body during his autonomic sleep
To be a pat, don't make much difference between male/female and behave to both in the same way as if you were of the same gender as them.Blend male/female qualities/behaviour

Aha, this is much less confusing. Put plainly, he suffers from a form of dimensia or delirium, waking up in the persona of someone else.

It's difficult to pinpoint someone like this, because they're really the same body with a whole selection of other people within.

I'm counting on the monks to do this.

I understand the equal treatment of others as the same gender whether male or female. It's the Gender Qualities/behavior that's giving me a problem. what are some mannerisms that would bring out the questionability of an individuals gender. Specifically, since I'm a guy I'm going to bring male traits to the character so I need female traits to balance it out.

Some standard feminine qualities which might fit
1] gossip a lot and admire things like flowers, gifts, babies etc
2] Be jealous of other women in some way
3] Be squeamish and be scared of ugly looking monsters, insects etc
4] Speak sometimes in a high pitched voice and scream when afraid
5] be more emotional than logical and cry occasionally when you're afraid or confused

Don't overdo it however, most of those particular qualities are stereotypically feminine, and overusing them would result in a pretty fake personality
