| blalien10-03-06, 03:23 AM | So, we started a Gestalt campaign yesterday. My character was Grokstar, a goliath monk // druid (using the Shapeshift alternate ability in the PHB2). The game was going well, and besides being good stat-wise, my character had an awesome personality and backstory. The DM wasn't pulling any punches either. Everything was fine until about three-fourths of the way through when my character entered a room and got sneak attacked for 36 damage. I had a long talk with my DM about the difference between being hardcore and being cheap, and he said as a compromise I could make a new character with the XP my goliath had accumulated, plus a bonus for good role-playing. Problem is, I'm burned out now. I put a lot of time into that character, and I'm quite bitter at his uneventful demise. I've been trying to think of an equally great character, but so far I've come up with nothing. So, I wanted to ask you guys for suggestions. I'm not looking for anything overpowered, just good. And it has to be a tank-type or the party will have nobody to soak damage. Rules are Gestalt, level 5, most books allowed but nothing broken. |
