| Velinfor05-04-04, 12:26 PM | Looking at creating a caster focused around the "prismatic" line of spells seen in the PHB (Color Spray, Prismatic Spray, Pristmatic Wall, etc etc)...however, there are all of 4 spells that I am aware of that fit in this catagory, 3/4 of them being in the lv 7-9 range. Anyone know of any other spells in this theme in any other books? Or PrC's that would fit the concept? Otherwise I am going to spend some time making some custom spells to fill in the huge gap and hope they get ok'd by the DM. Any help, advice, or location of information would be greatly appreciated. Added: The people on the min/max boards whined and said this post didn't go there, so I hope you guys here can help me out.:) Velinfor |

There was an acid mage in one of the character development guides in this board so I see no problem with developing this concept here (but you are right, the spells board is more active and would probably yeild more advice). Anyhow: 1. Color spray 2. glitterdust, pyrotechnics, hypnotic pattern 3. daylight, 4. rainbow pattern Other spells from other books: - Prismatic eye (MoF - Luminous armor, stars of arvandor, brilliant emanation, sunmantle, diamond spray, dolorous motes, emerald burst, eladrin form, blinding glory (BoED - |

Your magic missiles might have all the colours of the rainbow, or you shoot one blue, one green, one red ,... missile. Dancing Lights could change colours while they are flying around. When you use your True Strike to attack with a weapon, it could leave a trail of colours behind in the air. Or someone that is held by your hold person spell might be constantly looking at some sparkling stars that are flying around his head. He is totally distracted by it and he takes absolutely no actions. These are all minor changes to spells that do not affect the mechanics of the spells. Maybe you can think of more spells that only need a minor modification. |
