I'm about to start at level 12 and I've almost decided on making a Wizard/Loremaster, but my mind's drawing blanks on the concept. It'll be boring if I create the standard know-it-all loremaster with a quarterstaff that can be used to place books in to read...

I had this idea to make him just a tad insane. Sometimes comes with a goofy laugh if something neat happens (spell related) I fancy him to be on the experimental side of things. He might be as wise as your average loremaster, but might not show it right away. He should also perhaps be a bit clumsy and maybe suffer from memory problems.

And of course he crafts his own spellbooks :D

I don't know if I'm gonna make him a diviner yet, but I might although with an affnity for electricity spells (lightning bolt, chain lightning) Pure defense...REALLY!

Whadda you all think? Any quirks that could be added? Of course he's very sensitive over his spellbook(s) and I think I'm gonna let him take the leadership feat and have en apprentice as his cohort. That could be alotta fun!

Paranoia over books, and the knowledge within, leads nicely to spells like explosive runes and the sepia snake segil.

Alternatively, it could be a serious aversion to fire and water - hence a lot of abjuring spells, pertaining to these two elements.

affnity for electricity spells (lightning bolt, chain lightning)

Mmm, that reminds me of my awakened household cat... Wizard10/Loremaster3/Archmage2. Very interesting experience, it was.

Also had a strong affinity for electricity spells. Her fur was black with silverish/white zig-zags resembling lightning bolts all down her fur.
