my latest character is a githzerai monk. i already have a rough backstory for him. I just want to develop it and make it more elaborate/complex. It goes as follows: Duurth, my monk, is much like myself. He is strong willed, mindful of his honor. He is a lawful neutral character. His stats make him a very very quick and quite wise young gith, but he is also frail, and not much of a scholar. At the start of the campaign, his only sibling, his young sister has already been abducted by a most evil person/creature (the DM hasnt told me who or what is responsible, obviously). What i do know is that this person/thing is or at least was my step-brother. Now he has abducted my sister because he has always been jealous of me. My father (a revered colonel in an army, killed in an earlier confrontation with said person/thing) and step mother both gave more attention to my character. So now this beast had taken my father's life, and plans to marry and bed my sister. On top of all of this, my mother is dieing of a mysterious disease. And more important that anything else to my character is the fact that his sister happens to be the most gifted prodigy of a musician that the known world has ever seen. Her music is so moving that it is actually magical, and can allow someone to take control, say, of great armies at a whim. With the world already erupting in colossal war, this is a very bad thing. So my character has reserved himself to do anything required to get his sister back, WHATEVER it may be. so how does that sound? anyone have anything to add to it, cuz if you do id like to hear it soon. The first session of this campaign is scheduled to begin tonight.
