| Shendor05-01-06, 03:00 AM | I hope you can understand me despite of my english. I'm planning on playing a gnome illusionist wizard and thought it would be very fine if my spells have got some chants some spoken magical words when casted. Thus i realised that it wouldn't be easy to make a system to convert all spell names into a formula not all PCs. A possibility would be to translate the english spell names to latin/greek and so on names but i can't speak those languages that good, and it would be hard work considering the amount of spells that a wizard can cast at higher levels. I'm looking espescially after already done translation or a translator into languages that either don't exist or are not so easy to understand for everyone. Perhaps someone would be so nice to give me some ideas or perhaps a thread does exist to solve my problem. I didn't find the thread. Thanks in advance |

I had a friend whose mage used spanish as a magical language because none of his gaming friends spoke it. So you could try your own language if no one else speaks it well If you really would rather use free translation services, the following is a goodwebsite becasue it has so many language choices http://www.appliedlanguage.com/free_translation.shtml |

And all languages the translator can do (and i can read and pronounce) are european and thus are very similiar. Perhaps there is an (fantasy) Translator or something like that for imaginary languages (There exist serveral from games or books like Lord of the Ring- Elvish for example). Perhaps someone knows something like this- or latin would be a choice i think. |
