Well our Dm says there are some party members in this group that dont really roleplay becouse there characters have become to strong!

So now we start a new game with level 4 characters... the better the story the more stuff you get!

But i kinda thought of some kind of concept and it is:
A fighter or barbarian is in a army or on his way with a party or just on a solo party and then he gets almost killed by magic!
From that moment on he resist every kind of magic and he hates it!
he does not need to kill spell casters but he just dislikes them for the fact he is almost killed by magic! magic is evil!

But my question! is there some kind of prestige class for this or? any1 got a good idea?? (i rather dont be evil unless its lawfull)

Or some good ideas on the story would help alot either!

thanks in advandce!

Sounds like Forsaker or Occult Slayer. I forgot what books they're in, or if Forsaker was updated to 3.5.

Forsaker was not updated for 3.5e, as it had severe balance issues.

Occult Slayer is in 3.5e, and is found in Complete Warrior.

Also to add, there are a series of mage slayer feats.. complete arcane I believe.

I have a question. Does his not liking magic also extend to magical items? Also even though you said he resents all types of magic, what about spells like cure wounds for instance? What kind of attitude would he have against the party cleric if he/she tried to heal him?

Not a bad idea. As mentioned previously, the Mageslayer feats from Complete Arcane and the Occult Slayer from Complete Warrior should fit this concept nicely.

As for the backstory -- 'almost killed by magic' is a very broad concept. Depending on the type of backstory you're looking for, you could do a large variety of things.

For example, if you're looking for a dramatic backstory, I'd probably make it involve Enchantments, particularly Dominate Person (5th level Sorcerer/Wizard spell that seizes control of a person's mind and forces them to obey mental orders). Or if you wanna go with evocations, maybe he was close-knit with a group of fellow soldiers, before the entire unit (himself excluded) got roasted by a Fireball.

Does he have beliefs about the origin of magic as well, such as it all comes from or feeds demons, or leeches the souls of those who use it etc. (whether or not the mages know it). Making him work on a concept like this may give it more meaning than "almost killed". Also, getting really het up about enchantments as the most evil gives a nicer idea (it slowly erases the person's soul), and means he can have been forced to do something really nasty in his background.

Just some ideas

I could use the concept of he was in the army and he has took over a village with his soldiers for his lord and that is wife has come to the town and they try to settle there lives there and on that moment a wizard does a fire ball and he almost got killed but his wife was insinerated by the fire ball and from that moment on.. mages where evil... devils creations to kill the innocent and the harmless people... everyone that uses anykind of magic must have a pact with the devil!
So a cleric can see very peacefull but he will always try to avoid get healed by him!
(making will saves when he tries to cure him)

thats kind of concept i figured out! :)
