Ruric 11-10-05, 01:17 PM	I have this character, but I'm not good at fantasy writing (I'm usually a sci-fi nerd. I like math, science, etc, but I despise fantasy when not in D&D/LOTR form). So... you make it for me. The character is a wizard living in a low magic universe where wizardry is outlawed, sorcerers are looked down upon with contempt, rangers and druids are looked upon as witches, and only paladins and clerics use magic freely. The world is ruled by fearsome warrior kingdoms and marauding barbarian tribes. An order of paladins reigns in the land of the far north, and are unquestioned in their rule in the northern regions. Many renegade wizards and sorcerers travel, disguising themselves as low quality bards. Monastaries do exist, but are rare and the monks themselves often fear to venture beyond their cloistered walls. The character is a neutral neutral wizard who lives in this world and is a follower of no god, for he believes that mortals should not fight for the attention of the gods but that the gods should contest over the attention of the mortals. Or, you can make a variant of this: the same, but a fighter instead of a wizard. Enjoy
erbmjw 11-10-05, 09:26 PM	I had a friend whose character did 'favours' for the different Gods - the character was also true neutral and the GM loved getting her ( and the party ) into different "arrangements" with different gods. She was a freelance specilialists for the gods - never worshipped any of them - but did demand their attention. If you take the wizard in this world you would be special enough to become a freelance specialist - but you also need to have a very high knowledge religion so you can argue/fight with both the churches, the gods and their agents. Quick question What level?
Hells_Hooligan 11-25-05, 03:06 AM	I don't have much experience playing the game and the last time I was involved in the game at all was 11 years ago. So I imagine a few things have changed. I will be involved in a campaign that will be starting soon and really the only info I have been given is this: I will start at base age , level 1 ( I assume there is no lower level), we will be severely limited as far as modifiers and stuff at first. The story is as follows: captured and raised as slaves that are being brain-washed (I suppose is the word) to want nothing more than to fight. I am being used in arena type fights like the Roman days. We start as fresh characters with no weapons or armor something which we will earn later I am assuming. I am still trying to figure out how to create the character which I am sure to have help in doing. BUT I want to play a character that is not an average type character and since I have been outta the game so long I was hoping to get some help with any ideas such as any new races or any changes to older races. From what I have been told the Dm is pretty lenient to monster classes so long as nothing too powerful. Getting started in the game will be hard enough but I want something that will bring fun to game as well as a challenge for me and the others. Any ideas? Please Help!!
