I'm just now creating my character, he will be a level 6 Jedi Guardian, now with the adventure we'll be doing, I would like to make my character have a mandalorian backgrounhd due to their skills as warriors and history. Now I do realize that this is a little much but my group doesn't mind, but I must make up the race on my own.

I also plane to have my character wear the traditional armor of the mandalorians, yes I am aware of the fact that there is a possiblity that I won't be able to use force powers while wearing such armor.

So basically I was looking for some ideas for creating the mandalorian race and also possible stats for the Mandalorian armor as well.

Thank You

just saying: Canderous Ordo (best mandalorian evar) paraded around without any armor, and he was the Star Wars equivalent of Rambo. Don't feel obligated to wear armor.

I would give mandalorians +2 strength and/or constitution, +2 on heal and survival checks, and some weapon proficiency. maybe +1 LA. Can't help you with the armor bit.

And you're going to have to work damn hard on your backstory; How does a mandalorian kid end up as a jedi? Mandalorians raise their young in a spartan manner, and apart from the republic. How would he work with the jedi code, given the mandalorian disposition to seek and find joy in battle?
Was he an orphaned force-sensitive raised by the jedi? Or was everything I just said about mandalorians wrong according to your almighty DM?

Anearysm has a very good point. How does a Mandalorian kid end up becoming a Jedi? But also, as far as racial benefits go, I'm not so sure how much of one a Mandalorian would give you. To me, Mandalorians might have a different warrior culture, but at it's core, they are still biologically human. So, it is for me, a safe assumption to make that any bonuses you get from being Mandalorian are mostly cultural.

but then, this means that you were raised with beliefs that run counter to jedi credo.

how do you reconcile those difference?

or better yet, how do you roleplay out the inner conflict that arises from these contradicting philosophies? Personally, I think it would be AWESOME to play a character who has internal conflicts with his own culture and his present state.
