i want to make a character that is mysterious to the other characters, he is going to be a sorcerer/acolyte of the skin, i want him to be pretty much a hidden character, so i was thinking of putting him in a hooded robe, which he is also wearing a mask. my problem is i cant find any details about masks anywhere, i dont know how much one would cost? does anyone know of any books that show stats for masks? or are there any extrodinary masks out there. anything at all would help alot. thanks in advance!

Masks are simple pieces of clothing. A shoddy one would probably cost around 5 cp, while a very nice one could cost nearly as much as a good piece of artwork, as listed in the DM's guide. I could imagine a badly made mask could impede vision somewhat. Masks shouldn't have any stats really, unless they're magic or something.

My one character who wears a mask, (in the sig), just has a mask at a price of 0gp. I didn't see a reason to price it. It's at least as unique as his face. There's no mechanical benefit to having one, or even to choosing whether it's on or not. I guess it's just the DMs call.

There are magical masks in the Psionics Handbook. In addition, almost any magical item can sub in as a mask if it still takes up the right slot. I'v had masks of everything from Bracers of Armour to Belts of Magnificence.

There are also Hathran masks in Unapproachable East. The ones on the picture looked quite well, imo, although they were more of a half-face thing.

Also, I'd think that some of the RKCS books have some, given how every serious member of the Scorpion clan wears them.

A hat of disguise makes for a brilliant mask.

The complete scoundrel book has a prestige class called Master of Masks. Check it out.

Oh, that one? Meh, suit yourself... but you may as well just play a beguiler and make it a theme.
