| Dinue1309-23-05, 02:16 AM | i want to make a lawful good elf that is the youngest in a upper-class family. he joins the military to try to get recognition from his father who is mostly interested in his eldest son. i figure some studded leather uniform type armor (since he will have a nice dex score) a rapier, perhaps a buckler if im allowed to use it with a longbow. i would want him to have weapon finnesse early on if not first, although PBS is important too. i would like archery to play a big role in his style and some scouting skills would be nice. i figure the elven military would be mostly fighters and rangers, im wondering if i should multiclass the two. the fighters hit points and bonus feats would be nice early on, and the ranger class abilities are numerous. i see a clashh between skills though and im weary to make a ranger wait even longer for spells. a pure fighter would allow me to master my bow and my sword pretty well, and a pure ranger would be fun with all there unique talents. im undecided any ideas? |

The easiest way to obtain that Prc is to take the Hexblade class (gives you the arcane spells and BaB) If you want recognition, then earn it, go out and kill something huge, save somebody famous or defend something important. Failing that just become a paladin of some elven god, everybody loves paladins. Later |

They can be found in the complete adventurer book. or, if you wanna be more of a fighter type, and less of a... well... scout, then you could go champion of correlon(sp?) prc from races of the wild. They are like elven paladins, but less holy, and more famous-like. |
| Dinue1309-30-05, 09:19 AM | i have decided i am definetly going fighter, i figure my elf, may or may not be trying to gain respect from his father. i am more or less looking for advice on what kind of background a lawful good militant elf might have. i figure he was schooled in elven culture somehow, including academics as well as basic fighting abilities. i picture him almost paladin like in his demeanor, praise corellon this and thankyou corellon that. maybe even take some cleric levels later on. anyhow what kind of details could i include in his story, and what are some ways i could roleplay this, i new to "Roleplaying". |

As the time goes on I would have your character become more religious and finely recieve his "calling" on the level before he becomes a cleric. Ealry on, I would have the character have an almost superficial level of fate, and as he faces the hardships of an adventurer gain the insights needed to be a cleric. I also see him being lost in the world, trying to deal with the views of his morality and reality. He should be questioning what the party is doing and why, even if they are involved in a good deed; he should also try to achieve some measure of fame. I see him always trying to balance doing the good thing, while at the same time doing the great deed that will earn him his father's respect. |
