| Count Monte Cristo01-14-04, 11:49 PM | I need help finding a senseable path for my soon to be Fiend Slayer. Right now he is a Cleric 1/Ranger 3 of Shandakul. I obviously can't just go seeking demons to kill. Bad news @ low level! Any ideas on a comon sense direction for my Slayer? |
| Trydan01-15-04, 04:33 AM | I can see two possibilities here. 1. There is some catastrophic event in the character's life (slayed loved one is the obvious choice), which causes the character to start down a path leading ultimately towards revenge. 2. There is an attrition against the characters person or culture, that causes the character to join, or at least sympathise, with a resistance movement, whether that be organised or not. Say, fiends, under disguise, have taken over the country. Even though each action is supposedly for the "good" of the country, the character (and his or her comrades) realise that the "new order" is really just a farm to serve the demonic rituals that the fiendish leaders demand. |

| Count Monte Cristo01-15-04, 03:45 PM | He has already had an event which has put him on the path to slay fiends and he was trained by a ranger with fiends as a F.E. He needs practice to become a great Fiend Slayer. What route would you suggest he take to hone his skills without killing himself? |

| CaoSlayer01-16-04, 08:30 AM | I have a back story for that kind of character... in few lines: Imprudent wizard summons a devil without casting protection against evil in himself. Devil kills mage and start rampaging into wizardīs home that results to be a castle. Devil meets main character (as a boy or young man) while it is running with this family. Devilīs casts nasty spell and kill pcīs family, pc it is unhurted and then, enter in a frenetic rage and charges into the devil hitting him with this fatherīs sword. The strong blow only cause a sighly scratch to the devil, but he is impressed because was the only one able to hurt him (high DC). The devil grabs the pc and then, teleport him into a distant place "you are a brave warrior, come back when you grow up". and now, pc starts to prepare himself for fighting someday the beast who slayed his family. |

A devil woundn't do that. A demon might, but a devil woundn't. |
| Vintrastorm01-17-04, 08:41 AM | Maybe your conjurer friend could summon an imp in a pitfight, thus you have defeated your very first pit fiend. |
