| Theron2004-05-08, 07:36 PM | Stathis was born, and raised in the forest town of Darkwater. He is a half elf; for his mother was a wild elf. Stathis knows little else about his parents, for they’d both left on an adventure, and never came back. Thus Stathis was taught, fed, and sheltered by his fellow villagers. With this laid-back style of life, Stathis spent most of his time in woods playing with wild elf children, or helping out in the village. Despite his popularity around his village, Stathis is rather quite, and only speaks when spoken to. His best friend is a house dragon named Draco, whom he received for his 16th birthday, from Grimergrad, the town black smith. Grimergrad had hoped that Draco's aperience would make Stathis more open, but that didn't work. However Draco and Stathis became great friends and now, they travel the world to see it for all the wonders it holds. So what do you guys think? |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose04-06-08, 01:04 AM | dragon or psuedo-dragon? In either case I wouldn't make it a gift. I would instead go with the idea that he was asked to help raise it in the hopes that doing so would draw him out more. It's not all that uncommon of a tactic for parents (or parental figures) to try and get shy or quite children to open up by giving them more responsibility in the lives of others. |

They are exactly alike except the house dragon isn't poiseness, but it is more loyal. There is actualy a ranch near the capitol that breeds and sells them. But yeah that is a good idea. |

| Terjon of the Blue Rose04-12-08, 03:24 AM | Sorry it took so long but I've been busy at work. What you have so far isn't bad. You need to take it a few steps further though. You were a shy child. Well behaved, but quite and to those around you, you always seemed a little lonely. Your parents, in the hopes of providing you some companionship and maybe even drawing you out of your shell a little purchased a dragon for the house. He was to be your responsibility and the idea even seemed to work. You grew up with the dragon and he grew up as your counterpoint. The dragon always had a joke or a game and in time he had the desired effect. Your days seemed to brighten and though you remained a quite child you seemed to bear a smile far more often. Still it came as something of a shock to your parents when you decided, with a little aid from dragon, that you would not study magic with the local elven wizards. Instead you wanted to attend the school of the art in the nearby human kingdom. You wanted to see the wider world; something your family had never expected of you, but was glad to see. With tears of joy and fond farewells they sent you on your way. At school dragon became your greatest social tool. He would join into the games of the other children studying and jest even with the great mages who taught you. And in time his popularity drew you in too. You would join him in the games with the other children. Occasionally, when dragon was off pulling some prank or another, you even went out to find their games on your own. You have learned the joy of life from dragon and he is your dearest friend and companion. The troubles he causes you pale in comparison to the zest for life he has granted you. Likely it was even his idea for you to journey as an adventurer. He may or may not join you on that journey, though. And I would recomment not. I think this is his final gift for you. A life of your own, to make something more of yourself than he ever could have. Do dragon proud. What I'm suggesting makes you a wizard but changing the training and school is a simple matter if you're not. A ranger or barbarian could easily have trained with in a human lodge while a fighter or even rogue simply switches the school to joining the nearby kingdom's militia. Playing the character is a matter of speaking softly and only when called upon to do so. You're shy but not afraid of people so don't avoid conversation, just avoid starting them yourself. Make sure your character is always ready with a joyful laugh, a subtle smile, or even a steady shoulder when others need it. Talking isn't the only form of communication, just the one this character is least comfortable with. Hopefully this helps. |
