Living her young elven life in the town of Shadowdale, Sharwyn Eveningfall's father hoped she would take over the family buisness, which would be another 100 years. But she didn't want to stay in one place and just farm for the rest of her life. After hearing alot about a particular Elf in a near settlement called Ashabenford, she had ideas of what she wanted to become when she was older, a hero. Practicing her hand at fighting now and then with her older brother (Panr). Sharwyn liked it, but not as much as magic. She only saw magic when Storm Silverhand used it to heal, when travellers came to Shadowdale, or when her Father (Ibon) and Mother (Sarth) used it when in danger.
One early evening her father and herself was on the edge of Cormanthor Forest hunting for that evenings dinner, as it had been a harsh winter none of the stools had food supplies, and if they did the owners would of kept it for themselves. It was getting late and the only thing they had caught was a Deer. Her Father had decided to give up as torches were running low, so her Father told Sharwyn to head back to their home with the deer, and he would carry on hunting. She knew he would be safe as he lived in Shadowdale all of his life. Sharwyn got back to the farm house, and gave her mother the deer to prepare. They all waited for a while for her father, and decided hes probably down the tavern knocking-back a few akes. Morning came and still no sign of her father. Sharwn and her brother went looking all over Shadowdale for their father, but still no sign, then they went to where Sharwyn last saw him, they found and followed his tracks until they disappeared due to the new layer of snow.
Thirty years had passed and still no sign of her father, she finally decided to leave her mother and brother to explore Faerun. Her brother decided to carry on running the family buisness with their mother. Sharwyn wondered the Dalelands for about a year, picking up stories, friends, and skills along the way, also on her travels saw a half goat, half humanoid creature, and has wondered what it was ever since.
Finally she reaches the town Ashabenford, which rings a bell, but she can't remember why. Whilst performing in the town centre to keep her stomach full each day for a week, she slept in the local tavern. Whilst enjoying a warm meal, she over-heard a Sun Elf talking about starting up a adventuring party to the bartender, obviously she jumps at her chance of her dream, and makes the Sun Elf her friend, his name was Thamior Galandel.

THis seams like a good background to me. You've covered all the bases and did so in an origonal way. Now I did have a few questions though. I've often found that when starting a new charecter the background story is not enough to go on. You need to plan ahead how your going to role-play this charecter.

Why did he want to adventure?
How does he act?
What's his alignment?
Does he have any key phrases? (ex: "In the name of your diety here, I shall smite you!" "What was I talking about again?" etc.)
