As the sun peeked over the horizon of the desert, the human came to a realization. He would die this time. His limited knowledge of the orc language had borne this revelation the previous night. His guards' guttural snorts and grunts were largely unintelligible to him, but among the few words he could understand were death, kill, and morning . Any uncertainty as to the meaning of these phrases was immediately dispelled by their gestures and cruel laughter in his direction. Death, he thought. How many times before had he prayed for it. The first, he thought, was when they killed his wife before his very eyes. He was powerless to do anything. The next was when his daughter came back with dreadful tales of her time with her captors. She had been violated Gods knew how many times, and had they not been in seperate cages, he would've held her as she sobbed. As it was, she wept pitifully to herself, him unable to do anything. The next day, as he watched in horror, they had cleanly snapped her neck. Yes, he had prayed for death many times. His torture, however was worse than either of his family members had endured or imagined. Although they were beginning to heal, his fingers and toes still bore scars and blisters where his nails had been removed. He reached into his mouth to feel if the Scar where his tongue had been removed was healed yet. It was not. He winced in pain as he touched it. His orc guards opened the door to his all too small cage, cruel grins on their faces. They would finally see some true action today, and tonight they would feast upon his lean, muscular human flesh, greatly diminished as it was by their cruel conditions. They grunted and snarled excitedly about this fact, as the human let his mind wander. He had heard tales of a god, Saint Cuthbert, who many of the other prisoners thought would exact revenge upon the orcs and save them from their fates. Little good it had done them. Despite his skepticism and scoffing attitude, he found himself praying Silently to this Saint Cuthbert of the Cudgel. He prayed that he would not die, despite his many past longings for death. Now all he wanted was revenge. He prayed for an opportunity to exact his justice upon these vile creatures that had taken his past and his family from him.the orcs roughly marched him up a short flight of stairs, gripping by his tattered collar, onto an elevated platfrom on which a burly orc with a great poleaxe stood. a large crowd surrounded the stage. They cheered and grunted, eager to watch the lifeblood flow from his body, to taste his flesh. he was forced into a kneeling position and his head was slammed onto a chopping block. He ended his prayer, mouthing the word, "Amen" He prepared for death. The axe fell and with a resounding clang , it shattered. The stunned orcs had no time to react as the once pitiful human, now imbued with a brilliant mantle of divine might, grasped two pieces of the shattered axe. Using these weapons, he first slashed them across the vulnerable necks of his orc guards. They slumped to the floor with a resounding thud , startling the rest of the orc tribe to action. the executioner was the first to attack, despite the fact that all he had was a long pole. The human dodged the clumsy attack, reataliating with two swift slashes, one across the neck, the second across the orcish fiend's unprotected belly, his intestines spilling to the wooden stage floor. Mercilessly the human slaughtered the now panicked orcs as they scattered across the tent-city. They were easy prey. He spared none from their gruesome fate, not even the children. bodies hit the filthy, uncobbled streets with alarming regularity.the last orc met his demise cornered in his own tent. Although he whimpered and begged for mercy, his prayers fell upon deaf ears, for the human prisoner responded only with a merciless, calculated double strike from both sides of the neck, immediately decapitating the helpless coward. The human stalked out of the tent, not even bothering to avoid stepping on the corpses. he headedfor the orc larder, fining exactly what he was searching for. He several stalks of stolen, unprocessed grain. Walking back to the stage, he dipped the grain into the blood of the orc executioner that had spilled all over. Using the grain as his brush, the blood as his paint, and the stage as his canvas, he wrote the following message, "I will find you wherever you run, wherever you hide. I will desecrate your temples to Gruumsh, and at the same time I shall be him. I will be the all-seeing. Wherever you go, you shall taste the hard steel of my cudgel. I will relentlessly hunt you like the animals you are. From this day forward, I am Dagnir en' Orqu, Bane of The Orcs." Satisfied, he then gathered the shards of the headsman's axe. Upon reaching the nearest town, he would have them cast into a cudgel, orc's blood and all.
Please, someone make this character for me, cuz I probably wont do it right.

For class? Try the Gifted from this thread:

It's like a good warlock thingy. Be cool to say St. Cuthbert gave him those powers. Or you could just go the Cleric route.

I liked the story, good read :D

I cant say mutch for class on this one. I might say a combination of fighter and cleric who specializes in spells that improve his combat prowess not so much the damaging spells, or even substitute cleric for wizard or sorc and do the same and add fear spells to your specials. as far as the story was concerned, it was a great read it gave perfect insight to the mentality of the char while at the same time giving family history and purpose for adventuring. well done.

It's kinda obvious that he should at least have some levels of cleric. I also think that he should have 1-2 lvls of ranger. Favored enemy, track, and endurance fit perfectly with the character. He would most likely weild two cudgels for twice the justice :D .

Im thinking the most likely class would be Favoured Soul...the way he spontaniously casts...what ever spell it was, yet had the ability to fight with some skill. (more so than a cleric because a cleric would "know" he can count on st.cuthbert for spells...it seemed to come as a suprise to him that he could cast a spell)

Maybe a monk or paladin that goes into Fist of Raziel from Book of Exalted deeds. or Cleric Fighter/Monk that goes into the same class. I figure your character has a right to bring vengeance to evil doers and that class is made specificly for that.
