My First Story Post, Help Please [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-27-06, 07:39 PM This is my first time posting in this particular forum, if I recall correctly, so please, bare with me.

I came up with this character a while back, but never really had a deep backstory for him. Played him in a game with a DM that really didn't like RP as much as combat, so it went well...

But I'm moving to a new area, probably gonna start up with a new group, and when I do, I want to play this character again, hopefully, and I'm gonna need a new story for him.

He's essentially a rediculously savage elf, wild or wood (really not a big difference), feral, and off the other end of the spectrum as far as his angry side goes. Here's his specifics. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=7678494&postcount=48) Yes, I know I went power-gamer heavy in there, but whatever...

I know the whole raised in the woods alone fended for himself thing is a little cliche, but it works well with his background of mostly barbarian/ranger based classes. I'm trying to think of a reason he gets so angry, and I'm thinking either the unwanted bastard child of a powerful wizard that kinda just threw the kid into the woods to live on his own, and repressed memories trigger that kind of thing...? Any other ideas? Please help, thanks :)

Maybe he doesn't get angry when he rages.... he simply taps into an enlightened state of mind that borders on madness.

He starts out curious, as we all do, and takes on the Barbarian-esque prestige classes (Wildrunner, Frenzied Berserker, etc). Then he becomes addicted, absolutely NEEDING this state of mind, and becomes a Psychic Warrior and Soul Eater to ease his eternal craving.

His descent into madness is also reflected in his horrible will save, making it easy for anyone to take advantage of him, etc.

I like it, I really do. So I'm gonna definately go with the Chaotic Neutral slowly ebbing into Chaotic Evil as time goes on. Thanks!

So we have that beginning cliche account I mentioned earlier. Somewhere along the line he is captured and becomes a Thayan Gladiator for the amusement of others'... he's not too happy about this, unleashes some of that fury, which borders on madness, and is clearly addicted to it. In exchange for his freedom and servitude to some powerful red wizards, he becomes a soul eater, and they unleash his latent psychic talent. More rage and stuff later, ta da!

That's the bare-bones outline version of it.
