| Archangel_Arcanis08-08-06, 02:11 PM | I want to recreate Inigo as a d&d character my thoughts so far are to take 1 lvl of ninja(CAv) to get the wis to ac 6 levels of Swashbuckler(CW) and then prc into Duelist(DMG). I chose to go with ninja to to show that he has studied many forms of fighting and to get him a decent AC since he doesn't wear armor. Thought monk wouldn't fit at all. Swashbuckler since that is the best class that fits him, though ftr instead could be useful for the feats the only thing that Swash offers that is realy good is int to damage. Then Duelist to get int to AC and all the nifty little extras of the class. then probably either ftr or back to swash. Not worried about xp penalty if i go ftr since i will be of such a high level and the party will have lots of magic users that will spend xp makeing items. Well what do you think. Any suggestions? |

I think going the way of the Ninja is probably not very close flavor wise. You have to remember that Combat Expertise also does a lot of the things defense wise that Inigo can do. Plus, when he fought, he wasn't trying to kill Wesley, and he did get his butt handed to him by Count Rugen. If you wanted to you could also use the Class Defense Bonus from Unearthed Arcana. I think a better build could be done using D20 modern rules. Maybe with levels in the following classes: Tough Hero / Dedicated Hero / Smart hero. Tough hero he would have the Second Wind talent, Dedicated I would definitely say he has the Faith Talent, and as far as Smart goes, Exploit Weakness. I'd also suggest using the Fractional Base Attack Bonus progression from Unearthed Arcana (I use it in my D20 Pokkyclyspe campaign). That's my 2 cents. |

| Dark Brandon08-09-06, 04:14 PM | He probably had a level in cleric or or wizard or something, since he had the ability to find trap doors. |
| club2bash08-09-06, 06:42 PM | I've heard of a rogue variant that base attack bonus equal to it's level but know sneak attack. some levels in this and some levels in swashbuckler should work nicely. |

Also, Combat Acrobat is worth considering. I think most people are right-on with swashbuckler, with maybe a couple levels of rogue, and then the duelist PrC. Possibly Thief Acrobat PrC, but that isn't really close. Another option would be straight fighter with the weapon focus/speciailization chain. I'd avoid spellcasting, TWF, and monk levels as they have none of the flavor of this character. |
