| Shadow08003-31-05, 03:20 AM | Does anybody know of a good list of familiar or animal companion names? I am having trouble coming up with a decent sounding one. |
| Morka03-31-05, 03:20 PM | Not really. Search any site for pet names. Or read the horse race section: thousands of names for horses. |
| nephtis04-02-05, 08:43 AM | Look up the scientific or foreign language names for animals. I had a marten named Tayra (a mustelid, scientific: Eira barbara) A pair of cheetahs named Nyx and Juba (scientific: Acinonyx jubatus). A female wolf named Lupa (ok, that's not that original). And so on... most people don't realise you called your dog 'Dog'. Besides some names really sound great. |
| Istarion04-02-05, 01:51 PM | It's like calling a pet... I got a siamese cat which is called as my character's cat familiar (yes, firt was the character), Niké (read nih-'keh), as the greek goddess of victory... I also had a female dog called Pearl (the paradox was that she was a black labrador retriever). |
| Dreaming Bard04-02-05, 10:44 PM | Well, I'll admit, the only familiar I've ever had was a homunculus named Spot, but I've still got some ideas... Marshmellow Wind Lady Sir Fluffybunch Lady Fluffybunch Gold Old Yeller Rodric Elf-bane Bookworm Whitie Little one Giant |
| Antioch04-02-05, 10:56 PM | I had a chicken named Boo and a hedgehog named Knuckles. |
| DwarvinJedi04-03-05, 02:21 PM | This is funny: http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript?SK=154 , but I like to use foreign languages, for a lot of names, take my newest Star Wars Character: Eischlag Reingreifer (first name fusion of two German words, can't remember, and surname just 2 German words with no space in between) his daggers Dulch and Messer(Knife and Dagger in German) |
