I need a Background for a CN Dwarf dragon (red) shaman. I have not yet started playing him yet, so the is a lot of room to move. I just need a few idea on why he became a dragon shaman.

According to the class entry in the PHII, Dragon Shamans want power. That is why they become a dragon shaman, they feel that dragons are the physical embodiment of power and that is why the want to emulate them. Although some do worship dragons, most revere the might that the dragon posseses, not the draogn itself. Think as to why your character wants that power. Just to help himself because he's CN or maybe there's some other reasoning behind it?

My brain is slowly dying right now... but I hope that helps ^^

Here's a possibility:

Maybe, as a CN character in a very rigid dwarf society, your character was always something of an outcast. Never particularly attached to any of his fellow dwarves, he dreamt of seeing the rigid structures of the society crumble.
When a dwarven mining party stumbled upon a red dragon's hideout, they unwittingly invoked its wrath and it proceeded to tear apart large parts of the mining operation. Your character, witness to the destruction, found himself not only horrified, but awestruck - not because of the dragon's capacity for destruction but simply because it had the power to bring about genuine change to a situation he thought was unchangable.

Since that time, your character has embarked on a journey to achieve the same sort of power, so that he too can bring change where he believes it is needed. As a neutral character, he's not interested in causing destruction or suffering for their own sakes, but he might see them as occasionally necessary to shake people and societies out of their entrenched ways.

What do you think?
