Need a good last name for PC [Archive] - Wizards Community

I am looking for a really cool last name for my human Sorcerer. His first name is Arcadius. I thought of Realmslore as a last name but I think it could be better.

Seriously, I don't know. Perhaps an animal/color combination? Something like Liongold, or Blackhawk.

09-03-04, 02:33 AM With a name with a specific linguistic feel, it's often fun to create an English title as a name in another language. Since Arcadius has a Latin or Greek feel to it, let's throw out some possibilities.

Try Arcadius Mortis for Hall of Death,
Arcadius Meritorium for Hall of Virtue,
or Arcadius Potentus for Hall of Power.

For more of an Ancient Greek feel, try:

Arcadius Athanatos for Immortal Hall
Arcadius Axios for Hall of Worth
Arcadius Aphilos for Hall Empty of Love

and so on and so forth. You haven't given any sort of background, so choosing a perfect name for the character is rather impossible.

Arcadius Talanton- Hall of Balance (or Hall of Judgment)
Arcadius Zetos- Hall of the Seeker
Arcadius Diakrinos- Hall of Thorough Decision

That's a couple from the Greek, the Latin variants however were difficult to pronounce. Heck, even the third one in the list isn't easy (Dee-AH-kree-nos). But if you wanted to go along this theme, those all would be fine names for that character concept.

Assuming his family is tied to his quest (an ancient lineage, devoted to maintaining the balance, he could be part of the 'solve deficits of chaos' department) you could give him del Cielo (of sky, or heaven) as it implies freedom, which fits his chaotic bent and the kind of balance he'd bring nicely. That would be an idea...A family devoted to keeping the balance, with four different family branches, one for each alignment shift.
I like Owiercyn's names better tho.
Last note: if he is noble, he is more likely to have multiple last names (and middle names, or a wierd kind of Spanish middle name that comes before the first name:uh-huh: ), for example, Angel Arcadius del Cielo y Lopez for full title, first name Arcadius.

But, anyways, a good last name for your character would either be Godfyn or Sarsamson. Those are two good ones I just came up with. Later man. ;)
