Need a name for a Bard/Sorcerer [Archive] - Wizards Community

My DM is starting a new Eberron campaign and he's making us roll up level 2 characters.

Everyone else is using some of the newer races and stuff, mainly melee attackers, or divine spellcasters, so the party really needs an Arcane Spellcaster and a Rogue. So, naturally, I'm going for a human Sorc/Bard build, I want to stay more mainstream then the others. I could've chose Wizard, but I decided against it, I like to play a more spontaneous caster, not someone who has to use up all their spare time making items/studying a spellbook.

Anyways, my character is going to go with a 'Dragon-blooded' like history, I'm thinking about him being raised by Kobolds(Anyone know anything about the Kobolds in Eberron I couldn't find ANYTHING about them!), and he eventually left because, either he was chased out, or he didn't like the prejudice that almost all of the Kobold tribe would show him.

Can anyone help me with a couple of names for him, I want him to have a lot of different aliases.

Also, can someone help me justify the following feats, storyline wise?

-Openminded
-Extra Music

This one just screams "well traveled wandering musician", but I'm unsure if you would want such a cliche.... alternately, this combination of feats could represent perhaps a gentleman sort of debater/philosopher - the type who goes around cities, engages all the intellectual types in discussion. I'm not too familiar with the Eberron setting, however.

Human raised by kobolds is certainly... interesting. If kobolds are the somewhat backward and barbaric race they are in Eberron as they are in other worlds, well... I'm unsure exactly of how that might fit with a bard. Perhaps you might be the tribe's jester? entertainer? wardrummer? Remember, the stereotypical kobold society is none too bright, and I don't imagine a very great deal of education either... closer to a barbarian society, or to goblins in other world settings like FR.

As for names... try taking a word, or even a sound, you like, and rearranging/replacing the letters. Taking the completely random word "Comet"....

Camet
Colmet
Comlet
Khom
Kham
Kholm
Khalm
Cetom
Csetom
Metoc
Temoc

Anyone else have help on the background? I don't want it to seem to cliche or overused. Would the Kobold thing be overused?

I'd say the "raised-by-Kobolds" sounds too much like the "raised-by-wolves" thing. But it could work well if you do it differently. Not raised from birth because the Kobolds felt sorry for you and loved you (hahahahaha), but instead they worship sorcerers as dragon-spawn, and you were a captive they took. They usually sell their captives to the orcs (whether for food and supplies or for "protection"), but they kept you as a prominent figure in their culture. The tribe leader didn't like this, and so when he learned that his daughter was falling for you (ewwww...) he banished you from his tribe.

Open-minded kinda comes with being a human who was part of a tribe of goblinoids. Music was your way of getting on the good side of the tribe's great warriors, who used to plot against you, but now come by regularly asking you if you'll play at the great feast tonight.
