I recently started playing with a group i used to DM for (fun, but a little spacy), and everything was going fine for the first half hour or so...

My chacter is a female halfling rogue, while my team mates are a male human cleric of Kord (good), a female elven druid, and an evil male human cleric (whom hasnt been introduced yet)

Anyways, at the begining, I planned for my character to have grown up in the city, caring for herself, yadda yadda, thus becoming a noncaring-for-others sarcastic person.

Unfortinatly, the good cleric isnt to bright. I was playing in character and we were (trying) to figure out how to open a door that had four small holes in it nd two locks. I said "Why dont you put your fingers in the holes?"

And he did... losing all but his pinky and thumb because of it.

According to him, it wasnt obvious I was being sarcastic (and it may not have been), and, frankly, i dont want to get my team mates killed by playing in character.

To finish off with the actual reason for starting this thing: Does anyone have any ideas that I can slowly stop my character from being sarcastic, without radically changeing her personality in one session?

Well, seeing a teammate permanently mutilated would be something of a traumatic experience, particularly if you caused it. Perhaps you could continue saying sarcasting things, but halfway through the statement, remember what happened to the Kordian cleric and cut yourself off, then maybe finish the sentince in a straightforward yet exasperated manner. Eventually, you could phase out the sarcasm altogether.

That was some good advice above.

Another way to do it is to warn folks you meet that you have a human sized sarcastic streak in your little halfling body and to take everything you say with a grain of salt. Now you can say what you want and they have been warned. If anything bad happens, you are not at fault anymore. :D

Also, your GM needs to nip that mixed good and evil party thing in the bud. A good cleric hanging out with an evil cleric is a recipe for alot of crappy gaming.

Keep being sarcastic, just make sure to note it out in character to "Father Twofingers" and patronize him for stupidity if he ever is around.
