| +4_vorpal08-16-05, 05:35 AM | I need some direction on choosing a new character class for my Sorceror10/Incantrix10/Shadow Adept1 he is making the transition from an extreemly evil character to a somewhat goodly aligned character after looking back he begins to feel bad for what he's done. Anyway he's more artillery than support and i have began writing up his epic spells and will post therm if needed. Thanks so much. |

I mean, when you're THAT extreeemly evil and you're one of the most powerfull beings on the planet, chances are you've done a LOT of bad stuff to get to level 21. (including bribing the DM to let you be an incantrix... :) ) Is it just you , as the player, have decided he needs a change of pace, and you're looking for the excuse? Whats his background like.. WHY is he evil in the first place? Did no one ever give a BLEEP about him his whole life and kick sand on his spellbook so he just returned the favor a hundred fold? If this is the case someone being nice to him with no reason to might get him started questioning his life. Mayby he's walking down the street and a starving waif comes running up to him with his pouch of holding (and more gold than the kids ever seen in the last 10 generations of his family) all there to the last copper. Did he start down the path paved with good intentions.. and then just let the end justify the means? Mayby a paladin half his level comes knocking on the tower door challanging him to combat, showing him the willingess to die in a battle he can't win rather than let that villiage he fireballed go unavenged. IMHHO it shouldn't be SNAP.. he's good.. it should be a gradual, slow, drawn out process capped off by him making agreat sacrifice in order to selflessly help someone else. mayby he discovers the secret to immortality as age starts to creep up on him... but casts feather fall on the innocent falling off the cliff again. ALthough at your level, saving the secret and sweeping whats left of the kid into a bucket to be ressurected is a perfectly viable option. Mayby a barghest (or whatever that thing that eats your soul half the time) attack... |
| +4_vorpal08-18-05, 06:35 PM | He was born as a twin to a halfling mother in a small nomadic caravan in the Western Heartlands of Faerun. His sister and he were close and after their mother died were life the only children in the caravan left to defend themselves. One night a group of slavers attacked the caravan and slaughtered all who stood up to them. Those who didnt were captured and sold to the highest bidder. Xerian and his sister Tarah(the stronger of the two)were captured and auctioned off. Tarah was sold to a man in Amn and Xerian was sold to a sorceror. The sorceror after seeing the young halflings skills in magic taught him to hone his skills. The sorceror caught Xerian practicing a powerful spell which he had never seen before and grasped Xerian by the arm and withered at his touch the sorceror was crumpled and died. Being left alone he began to travel and stumbled upon a evil Necromancer who "befriended" him and urged him to use his magic for death and destruction so the two traveled together and laid waste to anyone who stood in their way. Until the necromancer attemted to kill a Lawful Good Vampire Monk who dominated him and forced him to give up all his possessions and leave him alone. Xerian who always thought the necro was a weakminded fool left him in the monks hands to do with as he wished. The monk sought to rid Xerians mind and heart of evil and turn him to the light. Xerian began to see that what the monk said "Strength doesnt make you powerful its what you do with you do with it." He unwillingly teams up with a group including the LG monk and his friends to battle physical embodyments of the 7 deadly sins(real original, huh?). After defeating the sins Xerian ventures out alone and is again confronted by the monks friends and asked to help stop the monk who has aquired a articaft which ages him upon usage the problem is the older the vampire gets the more powerful he gets and he is being told by an unknown force to use the power for evil means. Xerian and the monks friends are the last line of defense against the monk and Xerian is left to battle the monk although his chances are less than slim. He is defeated and is turned into a vampire under the monks control. ________________________________________ _____ Why would i need to convince my DM into letting him be a Incantrix he meets all the requirments ing the Players Guide to Faerun? Mabye you should read it you could learn a few things. |

Mabye you should read it you could learn a few things. Someone has to teach him. Why you ask? Because Incantratrixes are an ancient society of mages who safekeep their secrets that the world might not die. And you are a sorcerer? Sure, but I don't think it feasible that just anyone would develop abilities identical to those of the order just because. Gamewise? It is one of the 'best' prestige classes in the books. What did you expect? Okay... to "fix" your conundrum. It doesn't matter which class you take, as long as you want to take it. If he is a vampire I see no problems at all with him continuing to take Shadow Adept levels. Perhaps your dm has some good ideas? |
| +4_vorpal08-19-05, 05:51 AM | well the big problem now is that i have moved away my dnd group for college and im not sure if the DM after this little problem is over will let me keep the vampire template he's stupid like that you would expect that by being "cursed" with vampirism you would be able to choose if you stay that way i dont know. thanks for your input and response. |
