Hello,

we started a new campaing and i decided to play a different character Elan/Psion (telekenesis). we already started the game but so far im playing as a silent mysterious character because i can't seem to find a rightful personality trait. I really need help from you guys in these one, pleasde give all different opinions to see if i can relate or rater incorporated in my style of playing i might combine ideas to making very flavorful.

is kind of a big change from playing a paladin :D . by the way he is a neutral evil character.

Thanks... :)

Psions are about self-mastering. Anything else is variable. So, not a problem.

Elans are basically humans that live forever. So you basically can roleplay a human, which is not that problem.

The funny thing is: Elans live that long due to a psionic ritual. They are chosen by a council. They remember their former life, but they lose all their abilities (i.e. class levels).
So: What has your character done before? Did he had some abilities he didn't want anymore? Why? And why was your character chosen? Does he plan to talk about this, or is he cautious about his heritage?

i thought they lost all their memories of their previous lives, or if not that, only retained snippets of certain events??? owell...

anyway, for some great rp, why not make it that your character was some big player before he became a elan? For instance, he was a powerfull human wizard who was seeking immortality, he was totally evil and didnt want to become a lich, so he sought the elan. Taking a note from planescape torment, he left himself journals before the change, but they were lost (or some were...).

Or perhaps it was done as punishment, he did something so terrible that he was forced to become immortal (though powerless ie: level/ ability loss) and live in a world that he ruined.

... i dunno, there are so many great opportunities with the elan, i love em.

Hope this helps some.

I have an Elan character concept I recently came up with that you may be able to adapt to your own purposes...I'll give you the short and sweet vers to save time...

My character (Gestault Psion/Psy Warrior) was formerly a human captain of the guard of a small town in the Silver Marches (Faerun). He was chosen by an Elan Council for their own inscrutable reasons as he lay bleeding and dying on the battlefield after an orcish assault his army successfully repelled. He was given the chance to became the town's immortal guardian on the condition that he was to report any and all activities the town undertook to the Culler and to never to again associate with his former friends and family. He did so and with the help of a local Elan enclave kept his town safe for a decade and a half without the notice of the town. As his family moved on after his apparent death and he was forced to watch his wife remarry and his daughter grow up, eventually there came a point when he had resolved to reveal himself. One of his enclave members (Telepath) realized his intentions and had his family's house burned to the ground "mysteriously" the night before he was going to reunite with them. His old life was "a distraction" as they put it from their true purpose. SO naturally he killed them and fled before the Culler could get word. Right now he's been a wanderer for oh, about a century, and keeps his rusty greatsword by his side as an attachment to his former life.

He's sullen and grouchy when it comes to the subject of his past (generally says he lost everything in a fire and leaves it at that), but helpful, if a bit overanalytical (comes with age) once you get to know him. Loves to cook (max ranks + Skill Focus in cooking) despite the fact that he doesn't technically need to eat and thus has some weight to his middle. Mentioning THAT will get you a psionic suggestion to jump off the nearest cliff head-first...Plenty of ranks in Know (History and Local). Being type Abberation, you're an unnatural creature. Dogs bark at him whenever he enters a town, birds screech. Hasn't met a druid yet...That'll be interesting. Basically play a human with a big, dark secret and you'll be fine. Feel free to borrow some of my stuff if you want :D
