Lionhearted 01-21-05, 08:03 AM	okey! a pure healer (CG elven cleric(healing,...) 9th vow of peace) I has though of why he(or she) should be a healer then I had it. Guilt! he had his best friend killed only because his(or her) foolishness. then he vowed to never hurt a living creature ever again and devoted himself (or herself) to helping others, healing those whom hurt and bring peace to the world can you help me empathise(sp) this?
LiXinjian 01-21-05, 08:11 AM	Your character could be an ex-cleric of Tempus, the god of war. Of some particularly militant member of whatever church he is a member of now. Then he saw the attrocities of war, the gaping, bleeding wounds, the broken families, the desperate widows and the orphaned children. He was touched by the pain of those affected by war, and foreswore all foolish bloodshed. Perhaps a family he had come to love and respect (he would dine there a few times every month, and enjoy the good company) was destroyed by a conflict, and that pushed him over the top. Perhaps it was even a conflict he had ardently supported and promoted? Seeing how he had brought upon that destruction, he now seeks to atone for his sins. I'd post more ideas, but I have no clue as to what god your cleric worships, nor the setting you play in. Hope the suggestion helps, anyways.

Lionhearted 01-21-05, 09:20 AM	and the world is a earthdawn / dnd world componed of the dm most is based on real world with things like ganges and shangri la (currently in india like place) based on shadowrun timeline 4000 years before adam and eve. atlantis hasn't sunk yet and is capital of the evil terrans who rule the world except for Barsaive (the starting land) that lies about hungaria. horrors from another dimesion flowed in during a high magic wave and is just a pain in the neck that's the world shortly speaking

TheMightyMcClaw 01-21-05, 09:42 PM	Here's an idea: Say he's a former serial killer, professional assassin, or similar killer. When he was captured, rather than being executed, magic was cast on him to change his alignment from evil to good (I believe there's a cursed helmet that does that; it wouldn't be hard to extrapolate into a spell). He still carries the memories of the evil he committed, but his soul longs to make up for it. Thus, he became a healer, dedicated to saving lives to compensate for all those he took.
