Hi, i just write up a backup character if my main one is dieing in our campain (its pretty dangerous right now).

Now i want to try something a little bit different. I want to make an elf who was taught to protect the wilderness and all kinds of creatures (including animals, humans, even Goblinoids). So i want him to be a Paladin/Ranger with the devoted Tracker feat out of the CAdventurer. But my problem is we are playing in Greyhawk and i canīt seem to find a god that fits. He should not be a shining beacon of light and anoying to the rest of the group, but more the "silent ranger"-type, who leads through example (but is not the groupleader). The rest of the goup is mostly CG, so this could get very intresting...

Any ideas what god i should worship and what to think of when i play him? There seems to be not much material about elven paladins...

It also depends which D&D version you play.
I think in 3.0 & 3.5, Paladins suffer the same multi-class restrictions that Monks do (i.e. if they take a level in a different class, they can't go back).
There are feats around that let them take levels in ONE specified class, but I'm not sure where, and the feat can only be taken at certain character levels.

If you have access to Unearthed Arcana then I would suggest the Paladin of Freedom (CG Paladin). Otherwise I think you'll be stuck with Pelor, St. Cuthbert, or Heironeous. Of those three I would suggest Pelor probably. *shrug*

Ah, well, sorry, it seems i was i littel bit vague. We use 3.5, but most 3.0 stuffis ok, too. The feat "devoted tracker" takes care of the multiclass problem. And i want to be LG, i donīt like the CG paladin. Now, my current char is level 11 and if he dies i will join the party with level 9 or 10. I allready read all the stuff about paladins and elven, i just canīt find any information about Elven paladins (are they common, are they respected or looked down because of their lawfull worldview). I also donīt want the party to know (at first) that i am a paladin, it shouldnīt be the "normal" lawfull stupid anoying paladin. He is more the silent kind of guy who watches all and leads by example.

My plan for the mechanic parts it right now:

Ranger 5/Paladin 6/

Str 14
Dex 14+2
Kon 14-2
Int 12
We 12
Ch 14(+2 due to level)

Longbow, Longsword, heavy mithral shield and mithral fullplate

Ranger1/Paladin2/Ranger1/Paladin2/Ranger3/paladin2

Feat:
1 Power Attack
3 Devoted Tracker
6 Divine Vigor

Skills (at level 1):

Handle Animal 4
Spot 4
Survival 4
Search 4
Ride 3
Listen 3
Use Rope 2
Kl(nature) 2
Climb 2

Maximise Sense motiv, Spot, Survival and search

He is out to protect the nature and to fight evil whereever he finds it (but is forgiving if it is "urban" evil, like pickpocketing or some such. This belongs to the duty of the citywatch and is no serious business for a paladin.)

What i am looking for now is a good greyhawk god to worship (pelor seems to be to standard and not enough into nature-stuff to be a good choice).
And any infos about elvenpaladins you have or any ideas are welcome, too.
