Need Help with Mon Calamari Jedi Consular [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-01-05, 08:52 PM For the D20 free-for-all campaign on Rpgnation.org(where you can make a character from any d20 game, it is not an optimization thing) I decided to make a Mon Cal Jedi Consular, because I like both, but I am stuck on the background and name(I am horribly at names). He is basically a Lorekeeper in the Jedi Order of the Old Republic, but I am trying to figure out how to make it more interesting. Currently i am thinking he will not have the passion for flying that most Mon Cal's have, but he is a sculptor. Are there any languages that a scholar in Star Wars learn?

As for the name, the only Mon Cal name I know of is Admiral Ackbar, any suggestions would be helpful.

Also he is 1st level and is transported to an unknown land without his master, so I have a feeling that the Dark Side will tempt him some so any tips with roleplaying this tranisition would be appreciated.

03-01-05, 09:03 PM not sure if this will help but you could have the background something like he went in search of some ancient knowledge on a distant world by himself and sense he doesnt have the passion for flying you could have it be a mistake in navigation and end up on another planet, and asa for language go with an archaic one that he as a jedi lore keeper might have stumbled across in his studies. hope that helps but if not i tried :cool:

03-02-05, 06:24 PM Ok, I sorted out the Language issue, I relocated some skill points for Read/Write and Speak Ossian and Sith and Knowledge(Sith Lore) A sort of know thine enemy thing,

I am thinking that the character was a minor prodigy in mathematics and the sciences, and has a learning ability akin to mine(just slightly below photographic, I remember the big stuff, but forget the little specs, but since he has good wisdom it will be better than mine) and was chosen as a padawan by the lorekeeper. But I need some conflict afterwards.

03-02-05, 09:20 PM Another update: I have chosen the name Aakaba, and since Mon Cal's do not take surnames, that is it,
and now, due to my lack of knowledge I need to find a way for a Mon Cal to even become a Jedi in Pre-Empire times, before they discovered inter-galactic space travel(I could change race to human and not lose out on skill points, but humans are boring)(other +2 int races are Cerean and Duros, character concept would work with either, moreso Cerean, but I could have fun with a Duros)
